Countrywide Research and Information team, a unit in the Actuarial Department of MetLife Auto & Home, is seeking to add an individual with strong analytical talents. This individual will work on projects and analyses that support State Pricing. The candidate will analyze internal and external data, build descriptive and predictive models and present the results of their research to management. This individual will continuously search for new ideas and tools to apply to their work, and seek opportunities to share their knowledge with others. The level of the position is Senior Pricing Analyst or higher, depending on the candidate qualifications.
Responsibilities:
• Gathers and organizes data
• Performs data preparation and exploratory data analysis
• Performs multivariate analyses
• Builds descriptive and predictive models
• Presents the results to managers and peers
• Partners with associates in Actuarial and other departments to design programs to further profitable growth.
• Researches new analytical techniques.
• Performs other related duties as assigned or required.
Minimum qualifications:
• BA/BS or equivalent experience
• 3+ years of actuarial pricing or research experience
• 3+ CAS Exams (or jointly sponsored SOA exams)
• Excellent problem solving skills
• Strong knowledge of property and casualty insurance products
• Strong math and analytical skills
• Desire to continuously develop new technical skills, such as learning new software and modeling techniques
• Strong communication (both written and verbal) and organizational skills
• Knowledge of SAS, SPPS, or other statistical software a plus
• Proficiency in MS Office
