I have just downloaded Amateur Invest and am running the DEMO database with base currency set to CAD. The first stock shown is amagerbank. The prices and calculated totals do not compute and a massive profit is turned into a loss. I think the prices are showing in CAD but the totals in local currency. In either case the profit/loss does not seem to be correct for any of the demo stocks shown in the portfolio window. Help ?? |

Hi Chris. - Thank you for your interest in Amateur Invest. - There is no error in the P/L calculation. But unfortunately there's an error in the DEM portfolio data. The data was entered with DKK set as base currency, and so there is no need for an exchange rate for Danish companies. When you change the base currency to CAD, the exchange rate for each item in the portfolio is missing. You can change that by going into each portfolio item, and enter an exchange rate. Say when you bought the stock you had to pay 20 CAD for 100 DKK, you should enter 20 in the field - then the P/L calculation will work. http://www.amateur-invest.com |
