Fresh news in the Sandbox!!! Fat Freddie's Cat will be playing (tentatively) either December 10th, or December 17th at the Midway Tavern in the bustling metropolis of Shirkieville, Indiana. (Home of former senator Birch Bayh and practice houses for a number of "back-in-the-day" West Tee bands. I got a confirmation call this evening. We need to decide which weekend works best for us, asap. It's a small stage, in a small town, but while scoping the place out I found several patrons that knew different members of our band from days of yore. They expressed much admiration and support for us, sight and sound, unseen and unheard. Basically on our history and reputations. Additionally, the new owner of the Midway "inherited" some of our promo material and was reasonably impressed. At the very least, we have a real paying gig, just in time for the holidays. Also, got wind of some bad news for Phyllis, on her world outside of Fishback. Hope things are stabilizing for her and she is getting back to some sense of normalcy. Our show will be a three hour adventure on a Saturday night, 9:00pm to 12:00 midnight. More details as they become available. cw |

After a spirited practice session this week at Fishback, I am happy to announce that our gig in Shirkieville will be on December 10th, barring any last minute changes by the management. I may need to make one more call, just to confirm things, but that is where things stand today. Hope any and all readers will be able to make this show. By the way, they serve a pretty fine plate of catfish and other food at this establishment, too. Hey??? Dinner, drinks, music all in the same place??? Let's Rock!!! See ya there!!! |
