Hi Zipper, Well, one of the first things I'd do is check the zoning in your area. You really don't want to go to all that work (and expense) just to have some public official tell you you can't. The guy who owns Rosewood would be a great fellow to ask. Look in the North Carolina page, then look at Goldsboro. Rosewood will be there. His name is Glen, great guy. Another is a good friend of mine. Dave, he owns a track in South Carolina dad@sccoast.net, just tell him Gini gave you his email. He has a track in his yard. He hosted the South Carolina State race this year, so I think he'd be very knowledgable. good luck! gini (<><) |

Well Gini, I to had a track for a little while, and all I really needed was money. Rent, elec., phone, carpet, lumber for the pit tables, permits, buisness licence, tools, all cost a lot more than you think. I can tell you one thing for certain though,, if your doing this thinking your gonna make money, for get it. Breaking even is harder than more people think and any profits will usually find their way back to the track being spent on repairs, more stuff, the rent going up, things like that. Hey, a lap counter from AMB cost me 2800 bucks! But, then again, the computer that ran it cost me cheapo bucks, and then I sold it to Glenn. In fact, It's upstairs there now. Anyhow,, however you have to go about making sure you can open a track, remember, it's gonna cost at least double of what you think. But, then again, if you built a track in your yard and a few "freinds" showed up to "play", you could just say the "entrance fee" goes to pay for the electric bill. |
