Well, seeing as it's been quite awhile since the "opening", I thought it was time to start a new thread. As you all know, the track is closed this weekend, but it will be open on Dec. 15th. Also remember that the first big race on the indoor track will be the 4th annual Winter Bash on Jan. 26th!! And, if all goes well, Glenn has said that he just might open every weekend in Jan. and Feb. He would like youe response to this. If it's in favor, like I hope it is, then we can race all through the "harsh winter" months indoors!!! See you all again soon!!! OOOMMMPPPAAA!!! |

Hey Ron, don't know if you'll reply here or TTT or RCcaraction boards.. but here ya go... Hey Ron, you gonna race touring cars in VA Beach this Saturday? Racing starts at noon. Be there by 11am for reg. It's in Va. Beach in some mall at 1067 Independence Blvd. Hobbytown. I guess I'll go. But it means I'll have to get up early... sheesh. Anyways, can't wait til the trophy race! I think I might be up to racing every weekend. Although I know some guys would like me to race TC in VA with them hehe. Would be nice though. I'll check back later for Ron... see if he's gonna go or not..... dum dee doooo Jimmy Mac |

Sorry Jimmy, I was up in Va. but I ended up working at the Motel. Seems my sister and her hubby decided to put a doorway between the living room and 1 of the "rental" rooms to make it into another bedroom for the apartment. Basically it means that it's now a 31 room motel instead of 32. I had to do some of the wiring, and those yahoos are to wimpy to get the king size mattress out of the upstairs without a strong back,,,, me strong like bull,, LOL Anyhow, I hope your out at Rosewood this weekend,, I know I'll be there. What I'll run remains to be seen, as I think it's time for a new Spec motor and a few batteries,,,,,, Anyhow,, now I got 2 buggies, and 2 touring cars, a truck, and that silly Jugg. What class should I run in??? Stock, Mod., Mod. 4WD??? decicions,,,, OOOMMMPPPAAA!!! |

Hey Ron what's up! I didn't fair too well in VA this weekend. I got hacked alot by newbies. I ended up TQ of B-main. It was hard for me to pass in my qualifying runs. So the best I could do was 31 laps. The others for doin like 32's and stuff. One guy did 34, but that was because he was the only one in the heat (the others stayed out/broke). Seems the fast guys were in one heat and they all did good. Poor me :( hehe. Oh well. I'll be racing Rosewood this coming weekend. My girlfriend is not coming down. She's having medical problems. So I'm gonna skip the chrismas party at work and race. Plus on Sunday, Debbies in VA is gonna have a trophy race. I'm gonna head there very early Sunday morning. You wanna go? TC's and gas cars! I'm gonna race Mod TC. Anyways, I'm gonna go. Oh yeah, I bought a Micro RS4 at Debbies when I was up there. Dave took me to Debbies. Awesome hobby shop! They have everything there!! Seems like they had 20 Micros! I bought the new C5 Corvette. Oh yeah, and Hobbytown USA, VA will race every Saturday (where I just raced). It's real RC Ozite. They race TC's (stock and mod), Mini's (Mini Z and Micros), and electric trucks/buggies.) Kinda like an indoor carpet version of Chapel Hill. It was fun. Make sure you bring your own table! hehe... Talk to you later. Let me know if you and Steve want to do the trophy race this Sunday at Debbies. L8R Jimmy Mac |

As far as every weekend goes, Glenn has pretty much decided that's gonna happen. Seems a lot more want it than don't so,,,,,, Anyhow, Jimmy I just might do this, but as for Steve, he's probably not even going to run Rosewood this weekend. He's talking about coming there to sell stuff. But,, then again,, you never know with him. Bring your own table?? No pit stalls? what's the deal?? How about power? Talk to you later, too bad about last weekend,, maybe this one'll be better. OOOMMMPPPAAA!!! |

Steve sell his stuff?? What??? What's the deal with that??? He getting out of the hobby? Or getting rid of excess? Either that or he just needs the money. I guess we'll see this weekend. Well the VA race this Sunday at Debbies is an outdoor parking lot race. But the parking lot is rough. Real rough. Dave suggests raising the car to about 8-10mm ride height. I agree after he took me there. I'd say it's gonna be as long as Chapel Hill, but not as wide. So it's gonna be a high speed track. Don't show up with anything less than 10-12t motor if you plan on mod class. As far as stock, GM3 would be the deal. It's outside, so that's why no pits. Dave did say there would be power strips. But just incase........ Gonna bring my 12v adapter clips for my charger. I'm gonna do mod this time around. I wouldn't mind racing every weekend. I guess... hehe, except the VA weekends. hehe. Give me something to do I guess. Oh yeah, I bought a mini servo from Glenn today for my Micro RS4. That thing is a blast! Oh thing is I stripped it at grandma's house. I build a small track. Gonna have to order metal gears for the mini servo! hehe. This was the very first time I ever stripped out a servo. Now I know how you guys feel.... :( heheh oh well. Back to the stock servo... Later guys and gals. See yall this weekend at Rosewood!! Jimmy Mac |

LOLOL Anyhow,, still not sure if I'll be able to go to Va. this weekend,, and if it does what the weather twits say,, it's supposed to be a day filled with liquid sunshine!! Ok, they're here!!! The new track lap counting system has arrived, along with the new personal transponders! And man, they're a lot smaller than I thought they'd be. Anyhow,, Glenn got ten of them,, and as of this afternoon, 7 were left!! AND, Glenn also has new software for the computer to handle these new toys!! So, for next race day, if all goes well, there should be some different sounds coming out of the speakers as this new program runs on Windows so I'll possibly be able to put in definatly different sounds for the time countdown and the start tone. No more of that jumping the gun at the slightest noise. New transponders, new software, new P.A. system, Come out out to the "new" Rosewood R/C Raceway on the 29th to have so good old fashined fun in the dirt,,,INSIDE, out of the cold!!! OOOMMMPPPAAA!!! |

uuhhh, that should be, some good old fashioned fun,, and I also forgot,, Glenn did order a set of "regular" transponders for the track so you don't have to get a personal one right away,, but after you see how small they are, and how you don't have to return it anymore, and no holes in your body,,, why not get one??? |

Well, the new AMBrc system is installed, and before the next race, ther should be a new OS for the tracks computer! It's still Autoscore, but it'll be Windows based. Anyhow, new lap counter system, P.A. system and "new/old" computer all installed by ? today. Track maintenace done today acomplished a lot. Turns 1+2 hole/bump is now gone,, and the start/finish line is back where it belongs, on the straightaway!! Holes filled, ruts smoothed,,, lotsa work today!! If the other drivers only knew what was going on up there,,,, At least there's no problem with using personal transponders is there??? Hey,, I had another idea,,, hat if I told it that everyone had a "personal transponder?? Instead of "track" ones?? Hummmm, wait, that wouldn't work,,, 10 transponders,, 20 trucks in stock,,,,,I know,,, go out and buy a personal transponder!!! I mean it is the new digital age and all,,,,, I got mine,, where's your??? Glenn's taking orders now,,, and if you call today,, he'll throw in a set of steak knives!!!! Hey Ron, I'm still here, do I count? Rally cars, I brought my rally weapon over a couple of times before I got a buggy, anyway, P2K with a 24 tooth pinion will give outstanding run time, that's with the yellow spur, I don't know what the tooth count is. The little car clears the triple, no problem, just stay on the throttle to keep it level. I've got the proline rally boss tires, they where working good. I ran the car several times, then gave it to my boy, he ran it a couple of times till he got his truck, we never had a single part break. One short coming of this car is, the front tires throw dirt in/onto the motor, you could have a brush stick. Had that to happen. The cure is the street weapon dust cover, and it's cheap. I'll bring mine to the race, if the roads are clear. |

My truck for some reason just decided to work for me for a change. Anyhow, when I get some new stock type batteries, maybe I will try stock. Maybe I'll at least beat Gonzo!! Glen, Elwwood, Ron, thanks, I didn't race, but still had a good time. I've got a question, what is going to happen with the spec truck class come summer? How many would switch to stock for the "big" track, how many are indoor winter racers, a couple would mostly go gas or back to gas? I only ask because of my son, I don't want to buy spec batteries and motors this late in the season if there will be no summer spec class. Again, thanks for all the hard work. |

Hi Chance. I for one hope the spec class continues to do well all year. I am probably going back to stock myself, just because I have the batteries and motors, and I don't have enough spec packs and motors for me and my son to both run . He has run a couple of times, and will probably run this weekend. A friend of mine that used to run spec oval is also going to try and run dirt spec this weekend. It seems to be a fairly popular class, and I think the lower cost for batteries will help keep it going. Dee |

I was told today that yes indeed the spec class will continue on the outdoor track as long as there are drivers showing up. I for 1 will most likely be in that class. Mostly due to costs of things but for me, it seems to be a pretty equal class, the only thing that separates most of us is our own abilities. And in stock and mod classes, not only do you have to do the driving to keep up,, you gotta do the motor of the week, the 80.00 batteries, all the high dollar stuff. Spec is a real good class for those that want close racing, and lower costs. Look at the results the last few weeks in spec., almost as many winners in this class as there's been races. The top 3 this past week finished all on the same lap, with the next few also on the same lap. Now that's racing. When the winner is 2-3 laps ahead of everyone else,, that's no fun to watch,, at least for me,,, Anyhow,, see you guys this weekend!! Ron Zeee |

ok, now up above, the thing didn't quite post right,, the first number is the finishing position, then a space, then the qualifying position, then a space, then the number of laps, then a space then the time, and then name. Needless to say, the car number 1 was the TQ for that race. |
