For all North Dakotan hunters, this is the thread to converse about your hunt.
Talk about the parks, the artwork, white cloud buffalo. Feel free to leave comments about the hunt in general, ideas about future hunts to make this better next time.
If have a specific question to ask, to report found art, or send pictures of your hunting, me please email me at: william.hessian@gmail.com

buffalos are hidden as of 8am this morning. the first clue will arrive before 10am and ongoing throughout the day. You can also see clues as they are posted on the windows of the jamestown art center.
good luck to all.

There are probably a lot more places to search for the hidden buffaloes in Jamestown than most people are aware of. There are the three main parks; McElroy, Klaus and Nickaus; but there are also quite a few smaller ones. The Jamestown Parks and Rec department lists the city parks at http://www.jamestownparksandrec.com/parks.asp. Don't forget about the city flower gardens either! Good Luck.

thanks Brenda!
i only hide one buffalo per parlk/ garden... so their are at least 10 different parks & gardens to check.

6 buffalo still remain (or are unclaimed)
good luck finding the remaining buffalo

4 bufalo remain. I have been lucky enough to see a few of you on the search, while I paint in the park. If you see me in the parks, feel free to come up to me and say hi, and see what I am working on.
Tomorrow I may also check up on the remaining buffalo to make sure they are still in their location. otherwise i will update the website and let people they are found by "unknown". if you have found an artwork and have not reported it to me or the art center please do! You claim your prize, and still get to keep your buffalo art.
For those who are also interested, I have made little prints of my first two buffalo hunts and will be selling them at the Frontier Village in the J.A. Kirkpatrick gallery. if you missed out on those hunts you can pick up some prints of the hidden buffalo.

one more thing. for those of you who have already found a buffalo and still want to find more. Feel free to invite a friend, or another family along to hunt with you. You can then find more buffalo for another family!
good luck
remember to take pictures and send them in to be added to the website!

William, please check your e-mail I found Star and reported it yesterday.
What fun!
william posted 7/2/08 8:40 PM
kriss! thanks for the message, i did not find an e-mail from you, please resend so i can update the website.
congrats on the find.
i am assuming at least a few of these final artworks are found but unclaimed.
i am pretty sure no one has found the White buffalo...as it is a challenge to get to.
william posted 7/3/08 5:14 AM
i did check the white buffalo and it was found. high up in a tree. so congrats to whoever found that one.
and i am pretty sure the buffalo in the tires is found. i went to check on it and three kids were hanging on the exact tire with the buffalo! so i assume they found it, if someone hadnt already.
the Louie Lamour buffalo, is probably the easiest of all the buffalo. so i assume that one was also found but not claimed.
i will check them to make sure tomorrow, and claim them found or not found. and if you are waiting to claim your prize you must arrive at the art center or email me before thursday at 6pm, otherwise all the prizes are coming with me and Kelsey as we take off for Billings, MT for our next hunt!
thanks everyone!
great job hunting

A song in honor of the hunt - "Buffalo gal won't you come out tonight. Come out tonight. Come out tonight. Buffalo gal won't you come out tonight and dance by the light of the moooo-n."
If you don't like that one, how about "Oh give me a home, where the buffalo roam, where the squirrel and the tortoises play. Where seldom is heard, a crabby word, and mini artworks are found every day."
