Although the pig slop they have pawned off as albums over the past 6 years has certainly destroyed their image and overall aura is Metal Gods, their first 5 albums were absolutely relentless, perfect, other-worldly masterworks that would each end up in every metalhead's top 50 albums of all time - save for maybe "Metallica", depending upon the mindset of the individual metalhead's preferences. With that said, it is painstakingly difficult to pick my Top 10 favorite songs of all-time. However, as a true metalhead - declaring that the first 5 Metallica albums would be included as seperate chapters in the Heavy Metal Bible - I must attempt to focus my mind, soul, and energy to form my list: 1. Orion 2. Fade to Black 3. Battery 4. The Four Horsemen 5. Damage, Inc. 6. For Whom the Bell Tolls 7. Escape 8. Seek and Destroy 9. Master of Puppets 10. To Live is to Die/Dyers Eve Well there you have it. If you think it's easy...why don't YOU try and come up with your own list? Think of all the great songs I listed, yet how many masterpieces were left off - Motorhead? Whiplash? Fight Fire with Fire? Creeping Death? Wherever I May Roam? Sanitarium? Also, it is important to note that I chose not to allow any cover songs to influence my list...so covers such as The Wait, Am I Evil, Mercyful Fate, etc...were not considered. I hope you have enjoyed my selections you complete embrionic bastards! |
