HELP! I have this instrument and I don`t know what the heck it is! My band teacher and a band store dosen`t even know what it is. It is supposedly an old one like more than 15 years. It was made by Fe Olds & Sons but I can`t find it on their website. What you have here is an Alto Horn.Used in brass bands, it is a precurser to the Mellophone. Keyed in Eb or F, it usually came with an extra tuning slide to change the pitch, instead of a trigger.I hope this helps. |
