Why should you be yellow carded for cussing if your words were just a reaction to a bad play or to a screw up on your part? I shouldn't be penalized for yelling SHIT when I lose the ball or screaming F*&K when a teammate does something moronic and worthy of your opinion. I do agree one whould be carded when the insult is directed towards a player or an official, only then is it acceptable (to me). Screaming vulgarly is therapeutic ! It will vent out unnecessary stress. I will not feel better by saying "Oh poot !", or "Dangit!". I know about the childen issue, but the ref's job is not to babysit, it is to make sure people follow the rules appointed by FIFA. Local distortions of the rules made by BRSA or anyone else are conducive to violent outbursts instead of simple vulgar ones. But that's just me, I'm just not that mellow when I step on the field. By the way, my on-field personality rarely parallels my everyday attitude. I could care less about your feelings when I play, or the feelings of those watching the game. If you don't like my language then bring ear-plugs and leave your kids home. Yes, I am selfish in respect to this. This is my opinion. |

José, I agree with you on all counts except for one: I like when parents bring their children to games --- It allows me to direct my vulgarities (and we all know I have alot) in their specific direction. That way, I can get a great sense of satisfaction knowing that the entire trip home to the Jones' household was accompanied with the puzzling question of a 3 year old: "Mom, what's a cat have to do with soccer?" |

i agree jose. the occasional vulgarity used to vent frustration shouldn't be carded. if you're spewing filth for 10 min straight, then maybe a talking to by the ref, and if repeated after that, THEN a card. you should check out lapoop.cum's messageboard, mayhaps start a thread or 3 over there....that is, until they try to block your IP address....those losers |
