I live in the Portland/Vancouver area and have fishing licenses in both states. I have never fished for Walleye and would like to talk to someone out there as to the do's and don'ts in this fishery. Where to go, what to use and how to use it and what time of the day to do it. Please contact me as to this type of fishing. I have a 15 ft. Split seat Smoker Craft with a 15 horse LS Evenrude. I would gladly take someone with me or go with someone if they would be willing to show me what to do, either in Oregon or Washington. Thank you, Dave Boyea |

Dave: I would highly suggest, seeing you have little experience fishing for walleye, that you go with a professional guide first. A guide who knows the finicky fish and where to find them will prove a very worthwhile venture and will provide you with valuable insights on this fishery. There are only a small handful of good walleye guides who fish the Columbia. If you would like I could suggest some of the best guides to go with. Some of them provide training trips in which they concentrate on teaching the client the how, what and where, rather than spending the majority of time just fishing. http://www.localfishermannews.com NW Oregon & SW Washington Fishing News and Reports |
