TUCKER TUCKER TUCKER TUCKER TUCKER!

Due to scheduling conflicts and other obligations I was the SOLE delegate from the Smokin' Tahoes able to attend the 2006 Pet Fly Smackdown...changing the subtitle from "Is that a Trout in your pocket?" to "Is that a trout POPSICLE in your pocket?". 16F for a high this Saturday...kissing that first fish would've meant wearing it around frozen to your lower lip the rest of the day!

125 points or so stole victory from the Red Hats (thanks Enchanted one for inadvertently casting the "line snap" spell on your rod, not mine!) - The Smokin' Tahoes with the Tucker Nymphs have now officially taken the title of the first team, and FLY, to win twice (or as I prefer to think of it, 50% of the time, leaving at least 2-3 teams to squable over those rare times the Tucker doesn't take an outright victory) ;)

2007 we're back in Iowa, and, as required in Smackdown bylaws, I'll be there defending our title with the Tucker (Fatmatt, you might as well bury those white scuds in the SOD come spring). I'm anticipating a swift repeat victory for the Tucker Nymph in '07, leading to it's retirement (by tourney law). A successor is already in the works...the Alice In Wonderland...nymph.

Morbidly Obease Clan (in the brokeback cabin), Team HDS, aka Heath Desperately Skeedadled, and those Goofy 80 year old granny wearing Red Hatters, I thank you all for the choke!

Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah.

You're reign will be extremely short-lived. I gave next year patter a little workout yesterday and CLEANED UP. And, as you know, if the G-Man can clean up with a fly anyone can.

We'll just fish the a.m. next year and take a nap in the afternoon like Jerry did and we'll still kick everyone's asses.

On a serious note, it was great to see all of you again. Thanks to B for setting up the cabins, Matt and Mitch for the turkey, Red Hat for the venison, Fat for being Fat, and everyone else for doing what you did. Hopefully the people that couldn't make it this year will be back in for 2007.

Oh, o.k. - congratulations on the victory Matt.

MP (aka Dances with Eagles)I almost forgot - you're never going to believe this. As I was walking off of the river to head home, I stopped for a minute and said to myself "What a great day" and just then, I swear to God, 2 bald eagles flew about 20 feet over my head. Eerie, if you ask me.

PS - whoever got pics please forward to my email. Thanks.

That one person team really makes a difference in
the scoring.
Next year, I am fishing alone.....
Sorry I didn't stay for dinner, I was frozen from
creek walking, as of today I still have TEN purple
toes. I had a photo shoot scheduled for Saturday
night at some bar in Winona, and my team mate
had a show to play, so home we went.
Besides, had I taken it this year I would've moved it
to Minnesota and I feed my trout here with pink
labs so you would've been stuck with my reign
forever.
i spent almost as much time photographing as
fishing. My little slideshow is here.

Who got the MVP fly box this year?
As always, it was good to get out and fish, and
really good to do breakfast with all of you in the
morning.
When any of you decide that you wanna come fish
Minnesota please tag me, I will put you on fish, and
prolly make you walk your ass off.
Thanks again guys, and matt - congrats, I bow
down to the TUCKER TUCKER TUCKER TUCKER
TUCKER and call you out on a March trial run of that
thing on a Little Creek in Houston County where
you can catch chubs, browns, bows, and brookies
during a six mile walk through the forest with no
roads.
Lemme know.
thanks -
H-man

HeMan it's on.
All smack talking aside, thanks to everyone who came, thanks to B for hookin' up the lodging this year, and to Niel for again taking care of the DNR Tourney Permit (BTW, HDS, Neil will probably need your team's official numbers for our reporting to the IDNR). Thanks also to EVERYONE who contributed to our annual pot-luck...it was awesome as always!
I'm bummed so many folks had to take off early, but I totally get it and appreciate that some folks were even able to just show up!
Sunday for me was mostly scouting locations for a wedding, but I managed to skunk myself on Bloody Run (but did find some new HUGE pools the size of small lakes....).
More soon!

Dont worry MP those little white bastards will be waiting in the Fat Tribe box 'o tricks, until such a time as the are called upon again in Pennsylvania. TUCKER TUCKER TUCKER...on DEEZ!!!
Seriously it was great to see everyone again, even if for such a short time. I am working on a new recipe for PFS '07, that way we wont have to wait until 9pm to eat. Or maybe I will have to stop looking at ALASKA pictures, and cook the bird earlier.
Hopefully I dont have to wait for a whole year to see you fools again!!!
April Fools day on the Root/Pike for steelies, is shaping up already as a yearly Skinny Mitch/Fatmatt tradition, this will be 3 yrs in a row. Mark it on the calendars boys!!!
