Lots o lots o water. Methinks the fresh ones are skipping right past the wier right now....river flood stage and dirty but for chuck and duckers well I like the river at about 500 so I would say next week should see your first good wave. Hopefully. Tying spawn sacs vigorously right now. |

I am planning 2 trips: one with my daughter (lives in Chicago), and one with my project manager (lives in Rockford area). Has anyone gotten a chance to take the water temperature on any of the SE tribs yet? http://www.elilabs.com/~rj/fishing/river_conditions/ Gumbo's SE WI River Report |

Hey Gumbo - We met one morning in Sept/Oct when you were out with MP at Oak Creek. I was out on Friday and Sunday, both afternoon to evening trips to the Pike. We didn't see many steelies, but I caught a small hen on Friday after losing 4 battles, and my brother caught a nice 22" hen on Sunday (his first ever). I lost a buck on Sunday. The water was low but still cloudy and good visibility was between 4:30 - 5:15 roughly. After that, looking in the water was near impossible. |
