Are badgers aggressive? I came across one digging in a field. I was about 40 yds. from it, and he was looking at me real funny. I stopped, he continued looking then went into a large hole. I gave the hole a wide berth. Was there a possibility the badger could have charged me? Thanks

Hi Sal In my experience badgers always run away when confronted by a person. Some braver, or more foolish, ones have come up close to have a 'sniff', although they've never attacked or anything - not even when I have come across a mother with cubs. All the same, don't take chances - if one gets a little close for comfort clap your hands and shout at it, it usually does the trick. Regards Gerald (Webmaster)
