The following is from an early post, but I am still searching for the answers: Thank you for posting the Michael Hileman Memoirs. It was so nice of you. I have printed out a copy, but haven't read it yet. I have been researching the Good Family from MD-PA. I just recently learned that a now deceased family member, Bonnie Good Van Dyke, from Lower Burell, PA, had in her possession a copy of the History of the Good-Hileman Family. I have never seen this book. Is it possible to get a copy of it somewhere? I don't know where the Good-Hileman connection is. I do know that my husband's, Terry Good, Great-Great Grandfather was Abraham Good Born: Near Hagerstown, MD b: Jan/Jun 3, 1799 d: 1832 in Indiana County, PA. Abraham Good b: 1799, married on June 7, 1818 to Margaret Burkett. They had the following 11 children: 1. Christiana b: nov 6, 1820 Hagerstown, MD 2. Peter (My husband's Great-Grandfather, b: Nov 24, 1822 Huntington/Blair County PA. d: June 8, 1896 Armstrong County, buried at Smicksburg, Indiana, County, PA. married on May 7, 1861 in Armstrong County, to Margaret Catherine Marshall b: Feb 1, 1827 d: Jan 7, 1901 3. Abraham Good b: Oct 13, 1824, born near Frankstown, Blair County PA (Larry Good's Line) 4. Issac b: Oct 31, 1826 near Hagerstown, MD 5. Eliza b: Aug 16, 1829 d: Oct 2, 1844 Indiana County PA 6. Nancy b: June 17, 1835 d: Oct 3, 1844 7. John b: Sep 17, 1835 d: Oct 3, 1844 8. Margaret b: Nov 22, 1837 Indiana County PA 9. Samuel b: Dec 6, 1841 died Sept 28, 1844 10, David b: Sep 2, 1844 Indiana COunty 11 Sarah b. Aug 28, 1847, Indiana COunty PA It's my understanding that the History of the Good-Hileman Family book, has the father of Abraham Good b: 1799, as Christian Good and Barbara Alvey, and Christian Good as the son of Jacob Good, and Jacob Good as the son of the Immigrant Hans Good, who emigrated with 2 brothers (unnamed in the book). I need help documenting the parents of Abraham Good b: 1799, I have another source that lists Abraham Good b: 1799 as the son of Abraham Good, b: 1773 in MD, married in 1798 to ? and had 3 sons: 1. Abraham GOod b: Jan/Jun 3, 1799 2. George W. Good b: 1803 Near Hagerstown, MD 3. Samuel Good b: 1807 near Hagerstown, MD Yet another source has My line descending from the immigrant Jacob, Immigrant brother of the Immigrant Hans Good. (Gutt, Gut, Guth) I would really apreciate any help you could give. Can you tell my where the Lietersburg Dist is? Is it in Washington COunty PA or Washington COunty MD? Where is Canoe Creek and Scotch Valley? I have lived in Butler County, PA, all of my 49 years. My address is 110 Williams Road, Portersville, PA 16051. Thanks for listening, and any help. |

Looking for a Jacob Good connection in Frederick Co., MD prior to 1771 and after 1772 this same Jacob Good moved to Hampshire Co., VA and died there in 1780 (mention of w Susannah in Will. 2nd wife ?) thanks for your time bill good |
