Topic: broke leg

I have a 6 week old barbado with a broken front leg.looks like its at the knee. any advice on slinting/ what to use etc.. or other options will be greatly app. asap. thanks K.M.

It is all going to depend on if it is the knee..or if it is the leg...if it is the leg it should be fairly easy.. Make you a couple splints from a yard stick..Put them on both sides of the break..The best thing to do is wrap the leg first with some form of cloth then put the splints on and tape them in place with duct tape(seems to work the best)just don't tape it to tightley..then wrap that with stretch wrap...also make sure the splints are long enough to just touch the ground that will help keep the weight off of the leg...If it happens to be the knee that is broke you might consult a vet..but the end result will probably be that it will heal but will not work proporly..Any other concerns let me know...

thanks, it looks better since we splint it, but his hoof is reslly swolen, and spread apart like a y
