Each time that we have visited the shelter, we have witnessed conditions that are deplorable! Up to 30 cats in a small room. 6 or more filthy litter boxes on the floor. Cats eyes goopy, in need of medical attention/treatment and the smell is disgusting! The dogs and puppies look EXTREMELY neglected! These dogs were standing in their own feces, locked into travel size kennels! Your "Humane Shelter" is a disgrace and WILL be reported to the Humane Society and local law enforcement! You must and will be held liable under 39-14-202 TN Cruelty to animals Law, for such inhumane conditions and treatment of these already unfortunate animals! |

Conditions are such because it is a no kill shelter. I no longer volunteer because we were only treading water. Operating a no kill shelter is a good idea, but we do not have the funding or staff to maintain it. As much as I love pets, there comes a time when you can't save them all. By continuing to house the same animals over months you are not doing a service to the community. Citizens get mad because the shelter is always full and can't help take strays. |
