Hello. My name is Angie. My daughter, who is 6, had a cat to die today. It was horrible. The cat was trying to get into the car at night thru a partially rolled down window and got his collar stuck and choked to death. :*( I am a huge animal lover. The cat's name was Pepper. He followed my daughter home 2 Halloweens ago. And we have had him every since. My daughter was very attached to him. Luckily she didn't see how he died.
And with her only being 6 she doesn't understand the Pepper won't be coming back home. She keeps telling us to go get him back from Heaven. :*( I have tried to tell her that he is safe now and happy and with Granny. But she doesn't seem to understand. Nor does she understand why we have a grave. (I am afraid to tell her it is where his body is for fear she will try to dig him up.)
I really don't know what else to do for her. Her little heart is completely broken into. We have 4 other cats, so I don't want to get her a new pet.
Can anyone out there help me to help her? I would really appreciate it tremendously! She is our only child and that was her favorite pet. He slept with her and she could even put him in her stroller and push him around the block in it...lol. He was her baby and a wonderful extremely loved pet.
Does anyone have any suggestions to make the pain less intense? Or a way to explain it to her so she can better understand? I would greatly appreciate it. You can email me at angiecatslover@yahoo.com
Thank you. :*(
