Help! I was diagnosed with MVP 20 yrs. ago. I have spent hurs and hundreds of dollars in the er and for tests. I was so grateful recently to find all of you and a way to communicate with others who suffer from this crazy problem. It is such a relief to know that I'm not a complete nut case. Just tonight though I had a different chest pain. I started with what feels like a thud in my chest---then I have burning/squeesing pain from under my bra (in that kind of hole space)---across my chest---some in my upper back--down my left arm and up the left side of my neck. I feel like I've had 6 cups of coffee (I don't do caffine)---my ears feel like they fill up or something weird---and it last for hours and then slowly subsides. Sometimes I get really tired---but not tonight. I also got the chills tonight--that doesn't always happen. Does this happen to anyone else?????? I keep myself from rushing off the the er but it's rerally scary!

I am so sorry that you have to go through that. I know how scary it is. I don't have all of those symptoms, but some of them. I am on a beta-blocker and it helps a lot. Are you taking anything? My symptoms are also more noticeable at night and when I am tired. I just try to find something to take my mind off of it. A game on the computer, a silly show on T.V. like Reno 911, or something like that. It's easier said than done, I know, but it might help.

I also get the chest pains that last for hours. Some times they are so sharp, I have to take tiny little shallow breaths. Massive amounts of (800 mg) Ibuprofen definitely help. Good luck!
