Well, it looks like our new mayor and council are about to make another really poor decision. It'll be a tough re-election for these guys, they'll regret this vote. |

I agree, "digits", does anyone listen to Tim Lee on 1580? Probably not. What an idiot! I wish he'd take his dumpy little radio station to OS, he may fit in a little better there! He seems to think Goula is full of "simple minded" people. If the city council has it's way, we will be like OS, full of drunks! |

Once again, Tim Lee has amused me, he reminds of a cross between Rush Limbaugh and Keith Olberman...imagine that, and you have Tim Lee. I sure wish he'd get off the OS thing, we're not OS and don't want to be OS. Bringing alcohol to our local events will not bring the fortune 500 CEO's to Goula and will not make us OS. Anyone who wants beer, liquor, wine, etc can get it easily right now, this is NOT a "freedom of speech" or “constitutional” issue. Let's be honest, people in this income level (the fortune 500ers) do not like Pascagoula's diversity (tactfully pc). What Tim needs to understand and "think" about is our housing situation. The City of Pascagoula continues to allow low income housing to be constructed and remodeled at an unprecedented rate, that's our problem. We are becoming a city of haves and have not’s. We desperately need to demo apartments that are being remodeled at the taxpayer’s dime and build middle class subdivisions. Another MAJOR problem is our school district. Rodo has run off many good teachers and have restructured the middle schools to our detriment. We now have to send our middle schoolers to a school in the worst neighborhood in town! I have a suggestion that if taken, would plug the mass exodus of our "taxpaying" population and their school age children. If our school district is hell bent on the current middle school class structure, we need to demo Trent Lott MS and Colmer MS and build one new school on the old South Elementary site. If something isn't done soon, all of our "taxpaying" base will either move or be sending our children to private schools. BTW, I was fired up yesterday about the alcohol issue, but I really do enjoy Tim's show on 1580, even when he's misguided... |

As usual yall on here don't have a clue what the issue was. I called two councilmen yesterday to better understand what was being discussed because I was told they were going to give an open approval to have alcohol on all city property which I'd be against. That wasn't the truth I found out. The question was if the Council could change the ordinance to allow someone to request a permit to have an event that included alcohol on city property. It would still be illegal on all property unless the Council approved it. Heck, I'm a taxpayer and I've had a drink. I'm sure you on here have too. It's my property too to use. They should let me request to use it and if my controls are in place and I meet the city's permit requirements I should be able to use it. Not around the ballfields where kids are but why not the new senior center or rec center? I went to the old high school and it would be nice to have a class reunion at the old gym. It's all our property afterall. I agree it's unconstitutional not to give me the opportunity just because of someone's emotional plea or personal opinion. What about my opinion? I heard someone say the change would provide better equal access under law. I say change it. |

most of the people i see on here are so stupid, i drink every day and it doesn't affect me. its unbelievable that u would turn down profits for alcohol bashing. u would take 100 thousand dolla4rs even if it was made from alcolhol nad don't lie. people need to drink and we should pr0fit from it. u are stupid |
