The first time I met Joyce was at a Christmas Party held by Landi and Tom Mellas in 1998. I was impressed by Joyce's powerful energy and lively sense of humor. As she was leaving the party, Joyce invited me to come watch the next month's taping of her TV show. I not only went, but kept on coming, missing the taping of only two episodes since January '99. I instantly got hooked by her thought provoking shows and wonderful conversation off camera. My wife and I soon came to know her as a good friend and also an inspiration. Joyce knew how much I appreciated her friendship, but I never told her how she inspired me and that, in the short time I knew her, she left a permanent and positive impression on my psyche. |

Bill, I just found this site doing a Google search. I am the former daughter-in-law of Joyce. She was one of my best friends for over 20 years. We spent many hours discussing wonderfully interesting and exciting things. I believe that it would suprise and honor her very much to see this site. Frankly, a part of me suspects she knows and is very pleased. I'm glad you met her. She was/is a gem. Thanks for keeping her memory alive. Sharon. |

I met Joyce at the International Conference for Science and Consciousness in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was walking past me in a crowd of 800 people in the main auditorium, and she and her WONDERFUL energy caught my eye! I had to talk to her, so I asked her about the spider brooch she was wearing on her left lapel. She looked startled to be addressed unexpectedly in such a large group of people, but smiled and told me a little bit about how much it meant to her. A short while later, I met Joyce again and we talked and exchanged cards so we could stay in touch after the conference. I appeared on one of her radio shows as a guest, and felt so much love from her presence that it's difficult to describe. Fortunately, you who know Joyce know what I mean! She is one special lady, and I will love her forever. http://realityshifters.com/ Exploring the ways our thoughts and feelings change the physical world |

I "googled" the names of many of my friends from current and the past and found this lovely rememberance to Joyce. I first met Joyce in 1973. I was a senior in college and studying journalism and I went into the Dearborn Press to see if I could get an intership. Joyce was the editor and was kind enough to hire me as one of the interns and we all were paid $.25 an inch for our stories (if they made print). I still remember fun lunchtimes with Joyce, Helene Pierce and Jerry Wendt when we would eat cheese and crackers and try and levitate the table in her office. I cannot tell you how much fun it was to work there!!! Joyce was a wonderful person so full of life and so willing to always give young people a chance to make their way in journalism. Thank you Joyce!!! |
