Back in the eighty's the great train robbery locxo was in action and a regular visito to the Manchester area, I heard that it was going for presevation some time ago but lost touch of what happend to it. God it felt a cold and eerie loco to work on. |

The Loco D326 was the Train Robbery loco and became 40 126 and was withdrawn in 1984 and cut up a few months later. The loco that is seen in the film Buster which depicts D326 is D306 ( 40 106) which is preserved at the Nene Valley railway near Peterborough. Worthy of note of 40 106, this was the only class 40 not to be painted into " Rail Blue " livery and retained the green livery throughout its British Rail career. I hope this is useful info and a link to the D306 page is included. http://www.fortunecity.co.uk/meltingpot/lodge/455/class40.htm |
