My grandfather's name was Joseph Brockaway Lanam and I was able to find out that he was named for his mother's brother Brockaway Brown. His mother, Ivy Brown was supposedly born in Martins Ferry, Ohio and later moved to New Martinsville, WV. Obviously Brown is a hard name to research. Her father's name was John H. Brown (about 20 of them in that area - yikes!) and mother's name Laura O. Robinson. If anyone thinks they might have a connection with either this John or Laura, I'd love to compare notes. thanks
