was looking up the source of the 'paperclip' link - is this one of the MPC legacies ? it has the same four-colour firey sphere and usual essay on the Crowley / Parsons / Hubbard & Babalon Working links. www.mt.net/~watcher mein humble opinion is that these characters get a bolloking from supposed religious types because they actually ruined any chances of the nasties taking over the minds of everyone ; aborting the apocalpyse, anyone ? same hysteria at the last turn of the millenium (999 to 1000) ; how come so many have a problem with accepting the difference between a linear solar return calander which makes archiving easier, and actual alignments of planets and the apparent movement of the backdrop of stars (which are the only things determining ends and / or beginnings of ages) ? it's easier to have a date which progresses lineraly so you know when things happened, than it is to write out lists of planetary positions ; sorta like library card indexing vs. describing the book jacket and it's general position on the shelf. (sorry, maybe this shouldn't be in 'links'.) |

I have often thought of this. With wierd things happening in my life like time gaps and fluctuations like time moving faster or slower than it should I have wondered if in fact people can just "skip" dimensions? There have been times where I definitely knew something is one way and then when I get questioned about it, the thing is completely different! It could be from working with Chaos Magick and psychosexual techniques that in fact people can go to other places. Not like Earth 2 but in essence "jumping the tines of the fork" where the reality is almost the same but not quite. |

I apologize, I went with one thought and it went completely to another. I think that we could in fact have other selves. It makes me wonder what would happen if one of the "others" then got hurt. Would it manifest in sickness in us or perhaps some psychological effect? I just found it interesting on that website that people claimed that they could feel the energy from the battle that supposedly took place and it screwed up the vegitation in the vicinity. |

What you said about "perceptual" filters being applied is very interesting. It reminds me of what I read about in this book by Steve Richards concerning invisibility of all things. He claimed that back in early history we could only see very few colors, that is why the ancient Chinese only recognized yellow, black, and red. Also he pointed out that in the bible, even though it talked about heaven all the time it never mentioned what color heaven was, and this was because they couldn't see the color blue. Perhaps people's eyes are now finally able to see infrared and ultraviolet in a limited capacity and such is the reason for our increased sightings of "shadow people" and the like? |

No I haven't actually, why is that? I always heard that the reason the sky was blue was because the water reflected the light in the sky. If the sky is really orange does that mean the pictures taken from space are fake? |

considering that there's so much water both on the surface of the earth and contained within the atmosphere as part of that damn complex system called weather it would seem to follow that we would see it that way. Harla, any explanations as to why the sky is really more orange? Just because we see blue cause the light that lets us see gets refracted through what's generally considered bluish doesn't really distinguish any other color as more real without further detail. |

Interesting discussion regarding color; I've often tried to imagine what new colors would look like. I can remember being a child, fascinated and perplexed by the idea. I wonder just how many times I take a beautiful shade and miss its complexity by shoving it automatically in the "orange" slot. A few months ago, I read an article in Earthwatch (I think), written by an American teacher on a remote island in the South Pacific. The gist of the reading was that all of the children in his one-room school could see a color associated with just about everything: plants, people, etc. It was like another sense for them. One child knew that her father was coming back early from a boat trip to another island, and coming with other people, because their colors preceded them by hours over the ocean. All of the children would associate the same colors with the same objects: if one child said a plant was red, the others would verify it independently. And all of the kids thought it hilarious that their teacher who knew so much, didn't know something so basic. It was a fascinating article, and I was shocked at the time to see it in something fairly "scientific" or mainstream. I meant to post about it when I saw it, but forgot. *sigh* What's the word? Snyaesthesia? |
