I have just opened a new forum in which to discuss a number of topics dear to my heart which are not primarily related to Incunabula. The 2 boards (TRAVELLER and my own EQUINOX) purposes may differ somewhat but their subject matters intertwine in various interesting ways.

As yet I have not opened any topics on the board bar the introduction. I would ask that those who like to engage in free form chaos poetry do me the curtisy of refraining from it on the new board. This is not anything against that form of poetry, it just has no place in this particular place.

I may take a few days to settle into the task of managing the board. I look forward to some good discussions on related topics once people start posting there.

LOL...perhaps I should pay more attention to url names. :)
Harla, I know this is a tough question but what is the most interesting book on esoteric matters you have read...name several if you like. I am always looking for a good read.

..dr.wu may I suggedt one of the best books I've ever read..? --------------------------------------------------
Secret Teachings of All Ages
by J. Augustus Knapp (Illustrator), Manly P. Hall-------------------------------------------------------------------
--review from amazon.com
George Barron, Curator of the De Young Museum of San Francisco, in his tribute to this remarkable work.
Into this volume has been compressed the quintessence of a colossal learning. It is a living human document, pulsating with the mental and spiritual vibrations of a profound thinker who takes knowledge for his province and reduces whole libraries to a single tome.

Thank you...I have read and own both Morning and Secret teachings. I was thinking of more esoteric ones that I have not run across yet. I'll try some of the I/OH catalog unless you want to name a few more...?

On that note, might I suggest, "Creative Meditation, and Multi-Dimensional Consciousness" by Lama Anagarika Govinda. Probably one of the most concise treaties on Tibetan Buddhist thought ever written by a German living in India.

There are so many good books out there, I would be hard pressed to pick a single one that was 'the best'. Often the best knowledge you can get comes from seeing knowledge you gather from books in the light of experience.

I do recommend Mircea Eliade and B K S Iyengar on Yoga (though this is by no means definitive), while Leonora Leet and Israel Regardie put together do reasonably OK for Qabalah, if read in conjunction with the Sepher Yetzirah and certain other books.

One of my all time favourites is probably Mark Hedsel and David Ovason's "The Zelator", which I will never get sick of reading. Allan Combs' "The Radiance of Being" is also rather interesting, while I don't know what to make of it, it mentions research done on what it calls 'cognitive chaos' (its words). Shades of Incunabula?

Finally, I too have Secret Teachings by Manly P Hall gathering dust on one of my lower shelves. I should take it out and grab a peek at it again some day.

Harla,
Do me a favour and send me an e-mail. My inbox has been mysteriously empty for the past week. Thats very unusual considering I recieve at the very least 10 e-mails a day. I have sent you e-mail but Im guessing my server is acting up. I just assumed everyone hated me for whatever reason after the interview with Joseph :)
