Mickey Blancford has passed away. I don't have any details, but I do have this quote from the discussion board at Mickey's website..."I'm sorry to inform all of you of my father's passing. Mike David Blanchford passed away of as yet unknown causes last week. I would love to see any stories or encounters of my father.. please post here anything you would like people to remember him by. Thank you, James C. Blanchford ... http://www.fortirwin2vietnam36theng.org/HOME.html

James... Let me tell you a story. Your dad was and still a great guy. I am very sorry for your loss. His love for the 36th Engineers and the men who served so proudly in it will live on for ever. That is a story you can always be proud of. Jim Michaels

I never had the chance to meet Mickey, I communicated with him thru the association. You didn't have to know him personaly to realize what a good man, great soldier and how much he cared for his fellow vets. I am sure he was this way in all aspects of his life. He is gone now but live on thru his family and thru all of us. please accept my humble condolances for your family. Mickey we will miss you, God speed!

I would like to echo Jack Shuman's above statement. He said it all. It certainly could not have been said any better or with any more heart.

I am very sorry for the loss of your Dad. I did not know your Dad but he was very considerate when I posted a topic about my Mom passing away in Feburary of this year. When we lose a person that is as close to us as a parent it takes time to heal. But we always have them in our heart and mind. Take comfort in knowing he is in a much better place.
