Author Topic:   Script Error When Starting .76
Mertzee posted 1/9/03 0:31 AM
Hello,
I'm not new to Mame but am new to this awesome virtual arcade. I downloaded both zipped files for the emulator. Unzipped both of them and then tried running this emulator.
It trys to start but then asks me where the arcadetest.cst file is? I tell it where that file is then it trys to load but an error comes up, Script Error...Director Player Error..?
Asks me if I want to continue, i press yes and nothing happens, i press no and it exits.
Any help with this would be appreciated..I'll look at the Docs again??
Thank You In Advanced.

just unzipping the two files should let you boot in the cylinder fps arcade directly. did you unzip keeping the subfolder structure in an empty folder? if you did them what is the path to that folder and which os are you running?

Thanks For Fast Reply,
Here's what i did. I unzipped one (fe076part1) into a folder and unzipped the other (fe076part2) into a separate folder. Both folders are found in the directory, "C:\unzipped\"
I tried the .exe file then asks for that one .cst file, i tell it where then get script error.
My OS is XP Home -- My Computer is a P4 2 GHZ w/128MB of Video.
Hope I'm not just confused again...:)
Thanks.

sorry unzip both files into one folder. You can find out how to configure the frontend to your requirements by using the fetutorial file in the docs folder.

actually the tutorial is a bit outdated because it was written before the internal configuration whivh lets you manage your gamelists easily from within ther fe. what i would suggest to everyone being a bit daunted with the number off options in the list mgr. make a second setup off the fe to experiment with. try to add and remove selsets, gamelists...it will also teach by doing more on how all things fit together...just an idea ;-)
