My friend bought be Rent Workshop tapes from when Anthony Rapp and Daphne Rubin Vega were in The Workshop version of Rent!THE TAPES ARE GREAT! You can get them on Ebay I think. I know ppl sell them..... :) Anthonys voice cracks I think 4 times.....lol t doesnt sound bad though....because some of the other ppl on the tape are awful! lol but I LOVE IT! http://www.xanga.com/dancinggoddess this is my online journal/picture poster! |

Yeah...I downloaded all of the NYTW version of the audio yesterday. The cast members *excluding Anthony Rapp and Daphne Rubin-Vega* are not what I would call, "overly talented people" to put it nicely. I love some of the songs though, like, "You'll Get Over It" was a favorite, because I love the Mark/Maureen coupling and I love how he's still pining over her. But I also hate some of the songs.. They originally had the words "Right Brain" instead of "Glory"...same tune and all...just really different words... If you're a big fan of RENT and you have the oppertunity to download this...I urge you to do that...if not, email me and I could try and make you some CD Audio copies... Meghan, I think you should check if your setting of FTP file is on. Go to Tool bar and internet option. You will find about FTP within the browse. If it doesnft work, you can download an FTP client like LeapFTP. Free download at www.leapware.com Good luck :) |

DanceDiva, I so totally have to agree with you on that one. The rest of the cast sucks. Not to be rude, I mean, maybe it's just the recordings...but maybe not. Roger sounds likes he's a breathy smoker and Collins sounds like he's a raspy white guy always singing the octave up and gasping for air. Benny just makes me want to vomit...it's bad...really bad. Joanne isn't that bad at all. And Maureen is just average...*but then again, nothing compares to Idina Menzel's perfect execution of Maureen*. Anthony was, is, and will always be THE Mark. He sounded great on the recording...that's the only reason I continue to listed to it. I am, however, going to have to disagree about Daphne. I thought she sounded terrible on this recording. She didn't so the cute Mimi nasal thing that she does on the OBC recording. I love her on the OBC recording, but hate her on the NYTW recording. And the songs...thank heavens they changed some of them...I mean, "Right Brain" doesn't even compare to Glory at all! But there is one song I LOVE from the NYTW version..."You'll Get Over It" is awesome. I love that song...mainly because I love the Mark/Maureen coupling and the fact that he's still pining over her in this song...so adorable. Anyhow...that's judt my oppinion... ~Erin |

About that cast, if you really pay attention you will notice that the roger (tony hoylen) gets a lot better in the second act. also even though at first they all sound like they're stoned if you can get past that they actually sound really good. and of course anthony rapp is fantastic! Real Estate is a really strange song, i kind alike what they did with Rent, RIght Brain is great as is Open Road, and well i think you get it i love the cd. yea i do have it on cds. i totally love it, roger and collins included although the maureen sucks! |

um... I'm having problems with the FTP page. I went to Internet Options on my comp and it says that the FTP thing IS on... but my friend gave me that page a while ago and told me a password. I just can't remember what it is. *blush* Um... does anyone know what it is? |
