I am tired of the crusing here. Please, Asheville police and Buncombe County sherrifs department do someting about this. Espicalley before 10PM on Fridays and Saturdays! The traffic problem is horrible! Thanks

APD is not doing their job as related to Patton Ave.

You know I sort of enjoy the crusing. It really doesn't hurt anyone, and you can always take Haywood Rd. if you wish.
I have even cruised Patton on those nights and find it fun! ...and I am 66 years old!!

Not if you need to get to N. Lousinia, or Leicester Hwy.

Cruising Patton Ave is an old tradition, I recall racing from stoplight to stopligh as early as 1983.
I am glad it still occurs, I miss it.

"Cruising Patton Ave is an old tradition" as it is throughout every little town with an ounce of spirit in America. I really find it hard to understand how Justin and his sort would put a stop to it: actually have cars stopped at random by APD and people detained?!? cops questioning where people are going, with identity check points or something? We are IN Iraq but are we going to start acting like them, too? -- with moving check-points & random roadblocks? What you are asking for is four or five sets of flashing blue lights every Friday and Saturday nites on Patton Ave. etc. I can't think of anything uglier.

To be honest, I think it is rather stupid. Pointless. But kids these days think having fun is X-box and ATVs. To each their own.

There's not alot to do in Asheville if you are under the age of 21. Crusing patton avenue is the next best thing. What do you what us to do? Go elsewhere where we will get run off before midnight?
There are other ways to get to Louisian a Ave and to Lecister Hwy other than going down patton.
Besides, technically its only three hours of freedom before we get kicked out of there too.. and end up at Denny's or the Waffle House, or Wal-mart. The three places, other than 24 hr trucks stops that are open after midnight.
