Hello. Moved to Asheville in November and am loving it. Since we've changed locations my husband and have decided that we need, as we're getting older, to eat healthier and smarter. I noticed that shopping for "health foods" at the local grocery store was super expensive. I was wondering where "everyone" shops at that won't cost me an arm and a leg. lol Also..would anyone know of any forums or sites that would give me healthy recipes. Not going vegan or vegetarian...just healthier eatting. Thanks. Dianne |

I'm macrobiotic. In macrobiotics you don't "have to" eat just vegitarian..its just that most of us are. I do however eat some fish but outside of that I eat no animal products or byproducts...nor do I eat "any" processed foods. I can't imagine any diet thats as inespensive to maintain as is the case with MB. Thing is...you do have to make quite a commitment to the "lifestyle" and it takes a bit of reading/understanding to become involved in the right way. I've turned several people onto MB and while I think that they think they're eating MB'ly they're really not following the true methods. I do feel however that ANY step in the right direction is better than just haphazodly shoving things in your mouth and half chew them up before you swallow and move onto the next bite of who-knows-what. If you have any questions feel free to ask me. You can also buy some foods and join into the discussion forum at http://www.cybermacro.com/forum/ Its not usually very busy in there but then again there aren't a whole lot of macroheads...lol. Be well namaste' http://www.cliffordrenovations.com |
