I have a flat top can named Bavarian Old Style Lager Specially for Operation Deep Freeze. It was brewed by New Zealand Breweries Limited Auckland. It has a Task Force 43 logo and 2 red lions. I have been unsuccessfully trying to find the cans history. Does anyone have any information. Patty, Michigan, USA |

I was part of Operation Deepfreeze from 1974-76. I have a few of these cans myself. Everyone heading to McMurdo Station Antarctica, left from Christchurch, New Zealand. I don't remember the exact story at this moment, I can find out for sure. It was brewed and the cans marked as such to celebrate a certain anniversary regarding the South Pole. |
