I can't find any info about the "Kolotoc" virus, yet my anti-virus system found it this morning. Does anyone know anything about it? |

I found a Czech-English dictionary: kolotoc = whirligig kolotoc = giddy-go-round kolotoc (AM) = carousel kolotoc (GB) = roundabout kolotoc (tez i pren.) = merry-go-round kolotoc mody = merry-go-round of fashion Doesn't answer the question about the virus though |

Okay, I just foung out that it was a joke program, it came onto my system as an application named "cedarpoi.exe" |

I found this joke program too last week and as yet havent managed to get rid of it!! My antivirus softwear tells me that my pc has no virus!!! |

Hi Michelle, go to www.grisoft.com. AVG is a totally free anti-virus program. It caught cedarpoi (Kolotoc) without any problem. It puts the program into the virus vault and you can delete it from there. http://www.grisoft.com AVG Home Page |

Manually delete the cedarpoi.exe file and that will also clear up the problem. |

I don't think Kolotoc IS a virus. My AVG says it's a "joke program", and I found a site where you can CHOOSE to download it!! http://zabava.mobil.cz/soft/tocunda020703.html |

I just ran the program (in safe mode)... it was kinda stupid, yet in a way, cool. It made the screen look like it was on a merry-go-round (just like the program said). |

Just scored the kolotoc virus from a kazza lite download and the user refuses to answer grrrrrrrr. Hoping avg removes it if not it will be system restore for me |

I have also found that with some viruses, you have to completely turn off System Restore in XP, until the virus is gone. Otherwise, AVG will keep buggin' you about it until the System Restore loses that information (might take up to a month). |

Well first off the kolotic virus is a lame one and my avg removed it with no problem. Even if a joke virus it can be deadly. Especially if you do not know what your doing. So always take and be careful with any virus. always turn off system restore to get rid of it due to the chance of restoring your system and getting it back or sometimes if you come acrosss system restore like i do and dont use it and leave it enabled take and come across the annoying virus again. Disable the stupid restore it rarely works. |

Windows XP is a joke program too. But my anti-virus program won't delete it!! :( |

www.avast.com free home version works great auto updates and hass removed al lvirus's I have come across Nortons and Mcafee has not deleted or repaird or even caught all these virus's trhat avast or avg catch. and yoru right xp is a joke in a way but it does run good even if it attracts most virus's in the world lol. |

boot your computer into safe mode then search for the file "CEDARPOI.EXE". Delete this file then reboot into normal mode |
