I unwisely read the book before seeing the movie, and cannot help but agree therefore with many before me that the movie is mediocre by the best standards. I was merely five years old when the movie came out, but i couldn't handle horror films at that point, and thus didn't watch it. After reading the book and learning of the movie, however, i went on a hunt for it. When i found it in all places at my local Wal-Mart, i rushed home to watch it. Quite honestly i have to agree with many of the reviews before me and say that all of the acting, including the adults, was superb. And amen to Tim Curry...i can't say enough about his depiction of Penny Wise. I'm seventeen now and that sequence with little Georgie still scares me. Just the way that his face was able to contort itself while his voice simultaneously transformed into practically the voice of satan himeself was astounding. I whole-heartedly agree that Stephen King should attempt to make his own movie adaptations of his movies...hence the shining which was excellent. And i realize that he's a busy man and can't always, but i hope that he may remake this one in the near future. Frankly, it will automatically be better because of the advances in technology...hopefully if he or anyone else does then It will not end up looking like a deformed spider. I think that it's worth a rent definitely, and,if you're the type that is obsessed with the book like I am, then buy it because it is definitely worth seeing Tim Curry as Pennywise the Dancing Clown. |

Why donīt we all start a petition and send it directly to Stephen King about him doing a re-make of IT? Iīm sure that if we get enough names he would at least think about it and maybe realise that a new version could be so much better; just as he did with the shining. |
