I hope everyone enjoyed the tournament as much as I did. Good job Dave.

In my life, as in too many of my chess games, I have often tended to overlook the obvious. Since I joined CCC last October I have noticed that David is usually the first to arrive and most certainly the last to leave. This past tournament was no different. Thanks to Mark's comment I have taken this time to reflect on the tremendous effort that must have gone into promoting the last tournament as well as all the previous tournaments and chess club meetings that have been held since David accepted the huge responsibility of leading the CCC. It might be a fair statement to make, that if it were not for David, there wouldn't be a Charleston Chess Club. Thank you for all your efforts David and please call on me if you would like my assistance with anything.

You guys are too kind. I have had tremendous shoes to fill after we lost Pat Hart and even some of the words used to describe my efforts that were also used for Pat is an extreme honor. As an official observer last weekend, I took pride in the fighting spirit, gentlemanly behavior, and support that our CCC members exhibited thoughtout the tournament. Thanks to you all!

The tournament has been rated. Go to the USCF website and check for tournaments under your ID# if you played. Otherwise, go to Clubs, South Carolina, N. Charleston, Charleston Chess Club, and click on past tournaments. Congratulations on many local players who moved up a class after this tournament.

I agree with Russ. David Causey makes the CCC what it is and we all owe him a debt for a job well done directing the tournament!
