Seriosly dude? The review on this site says 'nothing special about this one' because of no nudity? Bear in mind those animations were top notch in 1987! No one dies, sure in the end it all closes too neatly maybe, I give you that, but the scenes where they are removed initially are pretty horrific(the parents? YOUVE BEEEN BAAAAD!) Is the movie for youngish folks? Perhaps. but I know most parents at the time were not shoving this movie into their kids hands, not after little bobby was found playing D&D a week ago and is clearly on his to joining forces with Satan and Pantera already. You cannot view this movie through the same lens as you would view a modern one and there are hardly any of the timeframe that hold a candle to it. I am willing to entertain the notion however, if you can tell me one Demon Horror Movie of 1987 that was better than 'The Gate'... and I dont even want to hear about Freddy 3:Dream Warriors.. 2 was way better and Friday the 13th is lame anyhow and doesnt count. http://neuroticnetworks.com |
