Do any of you guys fish any of the smaller lakes around the South end of Gwinnett County, or the North end of Rockdale County (like Black Shoals), or some of the other lakes in that general area, Moon lake, Brooks lake, The WMA lakes down by Social Circle?

I am getting a new vehicle to pull my small boat in a week or two, till then I am without a boat.. After then I'll have my striper boat for Lanier and the other larger water, and the small boat for some of the lakes I can leave my gas motor attached and still fish.. I would ALWAYS like to swap info and fishing location stories. Glad this board is here even though I am not plagued with the pop-ups on BFHP since I became a supporter. my email address works, the computer is on most of the time and it is too cold to fish...

It's nice to here someone else is curious about the small public lakes. I fished Black shoals 3 or 4 times this fall and had marginal success with no identifiable pattern. I haven't figured that place out yet. This past month, I've be going to Rocky Mountain wilderness area(Heath Lake and West Antioch Lake) above Rome. The fish have been hungry lately but the've all been small(10-15inches). Caught most all on a junebug carolina rig(slow) around blow downs. The great thing about these lakes is you can use a gas motor at idle speed only. I'd be happy to share info w/you if you'd like. lsmitty43eee@aol.com

I fish Black Shoals, Lake Varner, Charles Elliot, Tribble Mill and numerous private lakes in South Gwinnett. Out of all of them I believe Charles Elliot and Varner are my favorites. Check out the Ultimate Forum at www.ultimatebunkboards.com ... brand new fishing forum.
