I fished Gainesville creek Monday, what a difference a week makes. I ended up getting 2 one @ 13lbs and one 7lbs. I fished down lines with jumbo shiners until about 5 PM when I moved into the very back of the cove and the fish were busting the surface for just a few minutes right at 5. Several of us were trying to get them to hit flukes and jigs, but I didn’t see anyone hook up on an artificial. People who had herring for bait seemed to be doing much better than I was with my shiners. I can’t wait for the next trip when I get to try out the X91 that my lovely wife bought me for Christmas. It should be night and day better than the cheesy 10 year old Humminbird that came with the boat when I bought it. Good luck Mike |
