Not much happening, but thought I'd check in. The other forum seems to have a few problems.

Okay I am over here. So how is your barrel racing coming along?

Hap we might have to do all our conversation over here the way things are going on the other board.

How's my barrel racing going? I had to get a REAL job to support my habit. How's that sound? LOL!
Actually Legs is doing OK. I just need to haul & season him a bit. And that takes money. He is entered in the big futurity at Walla Walla next month, the 12th & 13th. This Wednesday the local barrel club started. I had the flu with chills, fever, body & head aches, but went anyway. I told Legs he was on his own because I took some medicine and I was going to sleep thru the run. I don't like all that circling they do at barrel races so I just start from the gate. Trying to train the way it has to be run in the real world. He almost didn't see the first, and when he did, he sucked back and we hit it on the way out. The other two were marginal, but didn't get hit. It would probably help him if his rider would actually ride.

Dang... I thought that was what husbands were for?

You might get their attention by saying, " You know when you get to the NFR they ain't gonna let you circle."

Dang I tried to copy and paste in the above post, but I see it don't work on here.
Anyways, the first line was an answer to your having to work to pay for your barrel racing.
Second line was in response to all the ladies who circle their horses.
Hope that straightens that message out for you.

Husbands??? He has his own bad habit called FISHING. This is an equal opportunity family. If you have a bad habit you have to support it. Then, Rylen participates in both so we have to pay for that too.

I didn't know fishing was that expensive of a habit. I got my own lake. Trap my own minnows. Go through a $15.00 Walmart pole and rod about once every 2 years. Not much overhead on my end...lol.

He fishes for Steelhead and Salmon. He uses a $40 pole with a $70 reel. The reel usually lasts 3-4 months, the pole about 6. He ties his own jigs. He buys only the best jig heads (Gamakatsu) because others will bend and lose fish. He has done so well the last year or so that he is thinking about patenting and selling his jigs. But, just to get the patent done is over $5000. Then he'd have to build a shop or rent one, because right now he's using a TV dinner tray in my living room. All his feathers and other stuff is stuck on a bulletin board, also in my living room. You know how people with cats in their house always have cat hair on everything? Well, we have feathers and bits of feathers on everything.

Oh, and it's the gas to get to the fishing hole that is really expensive, especially now. We drive a dually with a 454....8 mpg going down hill with a tail wind. My barrel racing doesn't use as much gas, I ride with my sister in her new deisel. Much cheaper.

Well if he gets rich making those jigs, you won't have to worry about barrel racing money.
I see voy has been down all day again.
