The rumours have been kicking around for months now but Ed Stradling at alt.fan.james-bond tells us a special DVD edition of Edge Of Darkness is definitely on the way. The new DVD is in the hands of the team who produced the I Claudius DVD. The original film will be re-transferred and there will be extras. The project is still in the early stages of development but expect it before the end of the year. More news here as we get it! NORTHMOOR SECURITY DIRECTOR |

Mat Irvine (Visual Effects)has confirmed to us that the new DVD is indeed in the works. The Disc producers will be going back to the original tapes for mastering and the package will include interviews (Mat was lined up to tape his contribution over the next few weeks). |

Unconfirmed rumours have this pencilled in for a May 2003 release. Seems incredibly quick to us, but here's hoping. |

Received a very vague rumour that the Original Soundtrack CD is to be reissued to tie in the the new DVD (whether this would be a separate release or part of the DVD package was unclear). Fingers crossed, but don't hold your breath on this one. |

UPDATE: Rumours flying over the last week to the effect that the Special Edition DVD has been cancelled. Trying to get more info. |

False alarm: Although at one stage it was possible the DVD would be delayed, it is back on schedule for a late May 2003 release. Don't know where these cancellation rumours are coming from. |

Good excuse to get your DVD player modified to play all regions; stacks of great films and series that never get a region 1 release. |

Great series and top website. I'm curious as to the current status of the new EOD DVD. Likewise the CD? there dont seem to be any still available. |

The DVD Special Edition is already available (check Amazon UK from where to buy it). As for the soundtrack, I really do wish I'd bought that 3" CD single back in the late '80's (got the 12", but CD would be nice)! Please, Eric Clapton/relatives of Michael Kamen (RIP)/BBC, make the soundtrack available again. Thanks, Nick |
