Hi Everyone, I know i've mentioned this before but we are looking to do the three peaks to raise money for the Stroke Association. It's now looking like i am going to have to organise it! I have no idea where to start, what i need how to do it etc. Can anyone give me advice? I would like to have a leader whos done it before and can tell us what to do how to time it etc. Where do i find someone like this?! It going to be a handful of physios doing the challange and i have a meeting in April which i need to present as much details as i can to. Help!!!! Any advice would be much much much appreciated. I've otganised a C2C bike ride for a group of 10 (remember Tynemouth BBQ at end of my cycle, Helen?) it took me about 6 months before it took place. And I've done the 6 Peaks in 72 hours with WaterAid (who organised it). Even for 3 Peaks it is no walk in the park, it involves a lot of logistics planning due to distances, and think you need to organise it a number of months in advance and have a support network in place before even signing up people to take part. I also think some national park authorities want to know in advance when sponsored treks take place, due to size of crowds etc. My advice is to seek details from other charity organisations who do theirs on annual basis for some info. You would need to: 1 - Timetable of dates and plans 2 - Budget and transport 3 - Equipment (how do you kit out rest of team? Chances are some might not be) 4 - Publicity to attract people to take part? 5 - A pre-trek gathering to 'gel' team together as well as check individual's fitness, some people tend to sign up to sponsored treks who have not done a day's walk in the Lakes or Peaks before! Believe me, I've seen it. I know it seems bit daunting but that's the reality! Any more info just ask. Good luck!
