RIO DE JANEIRO, July 15 — The United States dominated the Thriatlon competitions at Rio 2007 this Sunday at Copacabana Beach. In the women’s competition, Julie Ertel won the race finishing in 1h57min23s, followed by her fellow country one Sarah Haskins, who got the silver. Canadian Lauren Groves finished third and took the bronze. In the men’s competition, American Andy Potts (28) conquered the gold medal. Canadian Brent McMahon got the silver, whilst Brazilian Juraci Moreira picked up the bronze. Three years ago, Pennsylvanian Potts,was the 22nd at Athena’s Olympic Games. In March 2007, he got the Iron man of California, and in May, the American Championship of Triathlon, in Honolulu, Hawaii. During last season, amongst other deeds, Potts won the World Championship by teams, in Cancun, Mexico, and the Brazil Fast Triathlon, in Florianópolis. http://panamerican.pa.funpic.org My Pan American Games Blog |
