This issue was Fantasic!!!!. The best one yet. George and Kurt and the rest of the team really hit this one out of the park. So many great scenes.. My favs were.. JLA Satellite LUAU The Grandmaster Wall scene including the New Teen Titans, Thunderbolts, Heroes Reborn Version of the Avengers and so many great pics.. The scenes in AVENGERS Mansion, including the Comm-Room where George included 19 villians on the screen. AWESOME!!! I only found one error. In the main LUAU scene on page 8 Aquaman was a lei on. When they get closer on the same shot on the next page at the arm wrestling scene between Wonder Woman and Wonder Man he isn't wearing it. Oh Well. I guess you notice the little stuff after five reads. Thanks George and Kurt and Tom it's a instant classic. |

I found a bigger mistake than that...on page 37 (where the phantom stranger takes the Avengers and the Leaguers into that pink doorway..)in 1 pic it shows superman walking in front of iron man and wonder woman...the very next pic you see his shoulder behind thor....who is way behind wonderwoman.... i looked down to see that Martian manhunter was behind Thor and i realized the Mr. Smith, colored it wrong....it was Martian manhunters shoulder so it shoulda been green arm/blue cape not blue arm/red cape....and if you look in the very same frame as the goof, you see Supes' legs at the top of the stairs in front of Iron Man.....don't get me wrong, it was a great book, but that was such a rookie thing to do...guess it's just my attention to detail....well peace... |

I believe that Aquaman took the lei off betwwen panels minutes could have passed chronolgically between panels, more than enough time to slip his lei off for a bit. have you ever walked on a busy sidewalk or college campus or shopping mall? People walk at different speeds and pass each other and fall back all the time. It wasn't a cafeteria or bank line or anything. both examples are perfectly plausible. Since Marvel published this issue...I WANT MY STINKING NO-PRIZE!!! |

The only REAL mistake in this issue was no Master off Evil/Secret Society team-up so they could get their butts kicked. However, if Krona had Sonar, Mammoth, Poison Ivy and the others as his underlings to just take out Vision and Aquaman, how many MORE villians does he have lined up for next issue? (prying to the comic book gods) pleezpleezpleezpleezpleezpleezpleezpleez Puh-LEEEZ let there be a big super-villian throw-down next issuse |

David, in the picture on page in question, there are 2 superMan's...same frame..one up the stairsand one who's shoulder is actually the miscolored shoulder of Martian Manhunter...if you look Supes is in the front right before the frame in question....and he's also in front after the frame in question.....even tho it was a good try, it was not differences in walking speed that created the discrepancy,...it was a mistake in coloring...if you look again at the positioning of the Heroes and the fact that if all the coloring was correct, than 2 superman's were in one frame at the front and back walking....thats impossible...look close, you'll see |

Re: JLA/AVENGERS Errors I think if we find them it's great to let George and company know so they can fix it for the collected edition. Did you see where they put the barcode this issue? They used it to hide PLASTIC MAN's miscolored leg. Nobody's perfect and errors are bound to happen. Kurt said in issue #1 that the newspaper date on the Daily Plant was suppose to be the date the project(JLA/AVENGERS #1) was released but it wasn't changed. Who else would have known if he didn't tell us. The creators behind this project have always treated there fan's great. I think that they would want us to be honest and helpful. Happy ThanksGiving Gang!!!!!!! |

Am I the only old geezer on here who remembers the "No-Prize" form Marvel Comics? COMIC BOOK HISTORY 101: Lesson #153: the No-Prize In the early days o' Marvel Comics, mistakes were spotted by dutiful readers and reported to Stan the Man. Stan offered up the coveted "No-prize". an award to those eagle-eye applicants who discovered a mistake but came up with a semi-plausible excuse to explain why the mistake "wasn't" a mistake. If the excuse was good enough, Stan would send the person a "No-prize", which was in an envelope that read "Congratulations: Here is Your No-Prize" (or something like it). When the envelope was opened, it would be empty! Because...you see... it was a NO prize...cuz it's funny and stuff. Eventually, Marvel had actual No-Prize certificates printed and sent to the winner. The whole thing was a tounge-in-cheek gimmick that was used to help connect with the fans and make the experience of being a Marvel fan that much more special. the kind of thing thaty is so grossly LACKING in marvel books these days. (If a fan tried to claim a no-prize on a Bendis or Ross book, they would probably go on the internet and cry little little girls because someone DARED find the tiniest flaw in their work...but that's off topic). I was just throwing out a "No-Prize" refference in the hopes that fellow fans melancholy about "ye golden days" of comic book literature would receive a smile. Oh, well. And about the minor flaws in #3...WHO CARES!!??!! THIS ISSUE ROCKED LIKE GIBRALTAR!!!! TENNY-TINY MISTAKES WERE MADE! BIG DEAL!!! I HAVE BEEN A RABID PEREZ FAN FOR NEARLY 25 YEARS AND I DIDN'T EVEN NOTICE THE STINKIN' MISTAKES...MUCH LESS EVEN CARE!!!AND HOW COULD YOU NOT KNOW WHAT A NO-PRIZE IS!???! AAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!! (keyboard screaming due to frustration, not anger) ah............crap I feel old. Happy Thanksgiving |

I sure remember the NO-PRIZE, as I had one. Pointed out an error im a Miller issue of Daredevil and about a month later, the little bugger showed up in the mail (the NO PRIZE, not Miller). It was a great gimmick, and just another reminder why i prefer the old school approach and books as opposed to the majority of what is out there today. There..that being said, thanks again George and Kurt...I am having a blast!! |

August 29, 2003 | JLA/A #3 Color Errors Maybe you can get one of those? P.S. For those of you who wish to put breaks between your posts, it is pretty easy: 1. Press "Enter" to go one space down. 2. Type "<" then "BR" then ">" and then continue with your new paragraph. For those who understands html, BR stands for "Break". It should make posts a lot easier to read. I'm sorry, I wish this board would automatically understand new paragraph breaks... |

I noticed a small lettering error. When Iron Man and Superman fly off into orbit, Superman says "As I feared, it's not just happening loaclly." I think it was supposed to be 'locally'. Normally, I wouldn't say anything but I agree with Eric. If we can point out the errors, they can be fixed for the collected edition. Personally, this is the greatest comic series I've read since Crisis. I can't wait to see how it all ends. http://www.novaprimepage.com |

I particularly like how it's Hal who makes the little speech about not being able to play God with the fate of the universe. I know many people got hacked off when he went beserk and turned into Parallax. It's nice to see that here, seeing his future self from the outside, he realises two wrongs don't make a right - he could play God to stop himself from playing God as Parallax in another reality, but that would be just as bad a move, if not worse. Nice to see him back to his "usual" self. :) |

I liked Wanda's reaction. For the longest time it seemed that whenever a new writer came on board THE AVENGERS, he would do something to screw up Vision and Scarlet Witch's life even more than it already was. There aren't that many more characters in the Marvel Universe that have suffered more emotionally than this couple. |

Where do I begin with this issue? The first page took my breathe away. It took time to get to the second just from admiring the first. Then, Hawkeye with The JLA? Interesting? My mind immediately shifted to Crisis #11. Then the shifting bcak and forth. JLA/Avengers cross over parties? I wish. Nice touch. ( I would buy an Elongated Man, Wasp, and Ant-Man mystery ). If you're into dialogue, as I am, then this book gets two thumbs up. For me, this is where Busiek is at his best. Getting the Heroes to rationalize the problem, and preparing to make the Ultimate sacrifice. How can you not feel for Barry Allen who thought he would retire after a successful career as The Flash? Bruce Wayne carries a dead Robin in his arms. I wondered is Batman shed a tear at this scene? Tony Stark nearly lost his existence to a bottle. ( I have that issue, loved it. ). So much to be covered here from just those pages of 'what is to come.' I have nothing but 'high praise' for this issue. As for issue four, 'bring it on!' The stage has been set for a monstrously cosmic conclusion. I'm not going to make any guesses about issue four. I'm going to wait it out and let myself be surprise. |

I have to admitt seeing, JLA/Avengers having annual get togethers was pretty cool. Makes you wonder what that Universe would be like if both DC/Marvel existed in it. |

Yet another good issue but I have a question. Who is the guy that looks like Capt America but is in the black uniform? He shows up a few times in this issue and I'm curious to who he is. |

U.S. AGENT(John Walker) He was a replacement CAPTAIN AMERICA in the late 1980's. He also is a member of the AVENGERS |

The original US Agent costume was originally worn by Steve Rogers as "The Captain" while John Walker acted as Captain America VI. Later, Walker gave Steve back his uniform and title and in tun became US Agent. Steve, as The Captain, got his original shield back during a battle with the Flag-Smasher who had kidnapped Walker. Shortly before becoming Captain America again, he founded a new Avengers team with Mr. Fantastic, the Invisible Woman, Thor and Gilgamesh. So, when you see two guys wearing the same costume on the cover, the guy with a star on his shield is Steve aka The Captain, while the other guy with a black-centered shield is US Agent. |
