I certainly anticipated a great third issue, but Kurt and George threw me for a loop, just as the Grandmaster confused Krona! Things started out with the JLA seeing the final fate of Dr Doom, Which is interesting, but then I see Ralph instead of Plas, and Hal, who says he's talking to Barry?, and The Canary making out with Hawkeye, and I know something is off...nice effect gentlemen! "Strange Adventures" such a great title; this was written for veterans of the medium. As the Avengers are introduced, same thing; this is clearly a earlier (70's/80's) version of Marvel reality as well. The picture on the wall, from the original JLA classic "Crisis" says it all; the Marvel Universe has been confused with Pre-crisis DC cosmology. How strange, indeed. Until Cap and Clark realize it's all wrong, and it all blows up. Ok, now we're back to square one, but it's taken us 13 pages of story to get there...I suppose heroes do need to battle villians,so we get a little of that in the story, and then we shift to the alternate (Earth M, I guess?) and discover a extremely Crisis like Apocolypse where Krona finally appears! This is where the story starts to make more sense..for us and our heroes. A Great Centerfold with the two Earths trying to merge! The Witch and the Lantern... Jarvis serving Bruce Wayne...The Phantom Stranger.... and the unique color seperations used as our heroes go seek the Grandmaster's answer..these are just some of the interesting things in this issue.. and fianlly the history of both universes played before them...makes JLA/Avengers the book we were wating for...A sub title might be Silver Age and Marvel Age fight to Regain the Future...I find myself wondering if someone who hadn't been reading comics since the early 60's would really apppreciate this...but good job! I have enjoyed the crossover thus far. However, I feel that the crossover is very bias in DC's favor, that in itself kinda takes away form it. On the light side with issue #3 , seeing Hal and Barry back was a real treat, I am one of the few fans that felt DC should have never replaced them. However, Ralph is just a cheap Plastic man rip off. DC should have used Plastic man from the start instead of Ralph.
