well were to start i have been at the club 15 years and since then no improvment has been made to update the gym facilities. we are ment to be a tope club in the north east and should have good equipment to allow the members to come down to the club at their own leisure i will offer with others backing to raise money to refurbish the gym . by doing this it will bring club players together on a soical level and is good to interact with new faces . ( we need this) the lads would beniffit from this I and others alike who are in the building trad and craftsmen am prepaired to donate my time and skill to make it look and feel like a propper GYM . i need the club and members to back this and start beeing proactive we owe it to are selves .

I agree that you need your facilities upgraded and i think that if you had a better gym there would not be so many injuries, however, why should the players have to raise the money - where does all of Tynedales money go as it does not appear to be filtering back into the facilities?????

Exactly what money are you referring to? If you knew anything about the running of the Rugby Club you would realise that it continually struggles to keep it's head above water financially. There are a lot of on-going expenses involved in the running of a rugby club which I don't think you have considered and the Club's income is very limited.
Perhaps if all the players paid their match fees it would be a good start (apologies to 1stXV who almost without exception pay £2 each every match regardless of whether they are a student etc)
I totally agree we need a proper gym but it would be nice if the players took responsibility by providing the initiative and I'm sure if there was a large constructive appeal from the players plus offers & ideas of help our Executive Committee would be forced to listen carefully.

Appeal to the committee......we've been trying for years, may as well be banging our heads off a brick wall! Surely the "committee" should see it as common sense that decent training facilities would improve the standards of rugby being played! If they put some form of fund raising plan to the players there's no doubt that they would take part in trying to raise this money. This has been an issue for years and needs to be addressed.
