Kaye Lewis	posted 10/5/04 10:58 AM Loving It Large’s first night under the new name of Biggie’s seems to have suffered no ill effects due to the end of LIL’s association with BGNO – we had a bumper crowd with people coming from as far as Cardiff, Sheffield, Ireland, Plymouth, Liverpool, even Miami! A room full of smiles, lots of drinking, lots of dancing, lots of people making new friends and enjoying the warm and friendly atmosphere. So yet again, a big thank you goes to all that came out to party. We had a few media guests last night, the team from Granada TV who came to chat with attendees, as well as a freelance writer aiming to do a positive write up in 9-5 Magazine shortly. They have both asked me to pass on their appreciation to all those who contributed. We also had two birthday girls in the house, little Amy (she’ll hate me for that) just turning 20, and Janet (my Mum – the poor woman stuck guarding the cloakroom all night), due to collect her free bus pass on Monday. Happy birthday to you both. At past nights I’ve been so run off my feet that I’ve not managed to really get to talk to lots of people, so I made a concerted effort to get round and have a gab with some old and new faces. So busy was I gabbing and dancing that by the time I remembered about the raffle, it was 12.45am and not a ticket sold, so we should have a rollover. As you might come to expect, I don’t like to sell my people short, so next month, we’re going to have the biggest raffle ever, bumper prizes well worth winning, and we will have two DVD Players up for grabs. For those who bought their tickets online this month, gaining automatic entry to the DVD raffle, your tickets will be included and even if you aren’t there, should you win, I’ll contact you by email and get it posted out to you. Something else that was overlooked last night was the opportunity to buy October’s tickets at 2 for Ł15, so I’m extending the offer to you for the whole week – buy online using the special PayPal button on the Biggie’s London page. If the heaving dancefloor was anything to go by, the music, courtesy of Rosa, was enjoyed by all. So too was the buffet which of course, by the time I got to it, was obliterated. Well, that was my take on the evening, but of course, what you have to say is far more important – so get writing, your feedback is sooooo important. And don’t forget, you can comment on what other people say by joining LIL Interactive. One last thing…due to a cancellation at the Britannia Basement Bar, we will now be holding our Biggie’s Xmas Party on 4 December 2004. I know a lot of people were concerned about dates clashing with the other BBW event in the area on that night, so worry no more – luck seems to be on our side. It will be a three part event to incorporate all the things that people enjoy doing - shopping, meal and pub. However, you can join us and leave us as and when you please so don't feel you have to tag along shopping if you just want to go to the pub! After that date, any unallocated rooms will have to be released and you may not be able to get the discounted room rate if you book after this date. For those of you who are only hearing about this event for the first time, I apologise. I've had major problems with A Oh Hell and lost all my information including all my address list. Hotel Details: Seabank Hotel - Porthcawl Please quote the group booking reference 124688 when booking your room(s). The weekend will be totally informal just turn up and catch up with everyone. There are plenty of great restaurants within a very short walk, at least one fish n chip shop and an ice cream parlour. If a group of you want to eat in the restaurant in the evenings, please can you pre-book directly with the hotel with one person from the group making the reservation. Lastly, could you please let me know when you've made your booking and whether you booked a double, twin or single so I can monitor the take up of rooms and possibly reserve some more.
