Hi, Is it possible to add more females to a cage with a breeding pair in it? When I did this the male and female in the cage run around chasing the young female with their wings stretched out. Is there a mating dance between chinese painted quail? |

no you will end up with a dead hen, you have to put the pair into a pen that belongs to the single hen, or pull the pair out of the cage and put them in a box for a couple of days with food and water clean the cage out and put the single hen in the cage for two days alone before putting the pair back in there, it also helps to re-arange the cage so that the pair dont automaticaly think its the territory. mark |

Hi, Thank you for that. I must have been fairly lucky as the pair don't seemed to have minded me putting the young female in. However I will do as you suggested if I ever do this again. |
