I have been really impressed with the CC program, however we are studying a different time period than what CC is doing every year and I am trying to figure out why they do a 3 year cycle instead of a 4 year cycle. Every other Classical Curriculum integrates a 4 year cycle (ie:Tpestry of Grace, My Father's World, SOTW, MOH just to name a few). We are using Tapestry of Grace Year 2 next year which will cover the middle ages. The oldest child I will be homeschooling next year will be in the 3rd grade and I am interested in the Essentials program for him because we are using IEW for writing and he could use some reinforecment in Math. I am concerned about enrolling in the Foundations part of our co-op because it does not coincide with what we will be studying at home. I would like to know how many of you are studying a different time period on a 4 year cycle and how and if CC has worked for your family. Thank you! I will look forward to hearing some responses. Becky

I can't help you, but would love to hear what others say. Hopefully, someone else out there is still checking this forum, since most (I believe) CC groups have ended for this year.

I've heard that cycle 4 is a particularly harsh period in America's history, and they leave that cycle for the older children, for instance, maybe after the age of 10. Hope that helps,Kerry
