What is such a great band as the dipsomaniacs doing with such an idiotic album cover as your new Whatever Planet CD cover. comon' guys you know better! You want to attract an audience not turn them away with such a dull unthought of album cover which looks like it was put together without thought in 2 minutes (not even two). My three year old would have done a better job. first of all who is that on guitar behind your band name and why in the world are the words covering this dude. last we heard it was the dipsomaniacS not dipsomaniac. by that i mean if anyone didn't know who you guys were they would definately think this album is all about a solo act and not a band. we ask ourselves why the grass is green and the sky is blue and i ask you what does this picture on the cover have to do with the title Whatever Planet. word to the wise this shows lack of creativity. do the dipsomaniacs lack creativity in their music too. and what the hell is that water cooler looking thing on the lower right hand side. Whatever Planet is where the person on crack was who designed or came up with this cd cover. was that you mick? Ok i know its only a small picture on a computer screen but im hoping once i get my hands on the cd it will look better in person ( i hope ) or better yet get yourselves another cover for crying out loud cause this one is really bad. sorry im being so harsh because i dig the dipsomaniacs. but as a freind i just wanted to tell you how i felt about the cover. this horrible cover does not reflect the great music of the dipsomaniacS. hope you guys didn't pay to get this cover done. |

Jordan, You've got to be kidding. That's a microphone not a water cooler. The CD rocks; it will not disappoint you. We've got 18 new songs on there + we're including a bonus CD with 9 mostly unreleased songs including live favorites "I Need a Beer" and "White Trash Girl". That's 27 tracks (two CDs) for the price of one album. Anyway I love the cover, though I was on crack when I designed it. - Mick http://www.dipsomaniacs.net |

Hey, I was on crack when I suggested putting the water-cooler shaped microphone in the picture. Isnt it a neat effect? Take a quick look and WOW look - a water cooler!Take a closer look..BUT WAIT! It's a microphone! Just how freakin cool is that? |

Some activity on the MB, cool! Jordan, if you think this is bad you should have seen the cover Mick came up with for our "Smell The Glove" album. |

Oh yeah THAT one was horrible!! Do you guys remember the layout of the almost-accepted "Tour Uranus" title? We wont even go there..... Mick is a very sick person. (all that crack) |

Pretty lame response Mick. I can see you are playing the political role here and just beating around the bush. Jordan is not questioning the music he/she is simply questioning the cd cover. Of course you have avoided to clarify on why the cover looks the way it does. And i must agree with Jordan it is pretty crappy. Yes the dipsos music is great, but this cd cover does suck. and yes the fact that it is a special cd with extra songs the cover should've had more effort and appeal. I do see where jordan is coming from and this person is bringing up good points. Bashing him like that is not cool. Oh and yes...you may all know it's a microphone because of course it's your picture but im sure everyone else out there didnt. |

Big-D, I wasn't trying to bash Jordan, and I do agree my reply was about the music and Jordan was questioning the artwork. I don't know what to say - I like the cover. Once you see the whole CD it makes mroe sense - all the images, color themes, fonts, and logos are taken from an old military book (circa 1957) written about US, European, and Russian jets and missiles. I came across the book at an antique store in Jersey and fell in love with the apocalyptic descriptions of the planes' "nuclear capabilities". Feeling that some of the "seek, escape, and destroy" themes in the book applied to our new material I decided to use the images and vibe of the old book for the new CD. The wrinkle from the upper left hand corner is actually scanned right from the booklet - as is the arrow in the circle logo. Mixed in with all this are some images of the band recording (the cover) and playing live. When you see the other pages of the CD booklet you'll notice how it all ties together; I hope. - Mick http://www.facedown.net |

OK. Thanks Liz. (Should we try to be the old-school GnR - circa 1991 - or the new Axl & Roses version?) |

No hard feelings there mick. the dipsos music is great pure rock and roll there is no denying that. but i figure i would cast my opinion about the cd cover, which still does not make sense . i still wont change my opinion about it though, cause i honestly think its a bad cover. you dont mean to tell me there could've been a better picture or layout. mick, i think you just don't want to admit it. Now on the other hand Undertow was a great cd cover. the cover actually went with the concept of the album title. To date undertow has to be the best of all your covers. It is simple yet classic. it is very mature and professional looking. Dont mean to keep bringing up the cover issue or bore you to death but unfortunately we live in a plastic world were people do judge a book by its cover and your music is worthy of better promotion. Yes i'm hoping that once i get a hold of the cd i may change my mind about it but i do feel this dull cover will not make people wanna pick the cd up due to lack of visual appeal. Think about it next time when you go to the music store and pick out a cd just because you though the cd cover was actually really cool looking and you turn it over and start reading the titles. All this attention to a band whose music you don't know just because the cover was great. Like i said mick, no hard feelings. I guess as long as the songs are great who cares about the cd cover. Right? |

Hey I think you should not judge a band by it's cover. By it's cover-songs, yes, but not by the cover. but thats just me what do I know I'm just a fan. Mike R from the wilds of Somerset NJ Oh and one more thing. Are the dipso's playing anywhere on July 4th like last year ? man that outdoor concert rocked and seeing all youse guys up on the big jumbotron screen was neato. |
