I sure have, and it wasn't frightening in the least. Came home from the Navy in January 1966 and occupied a small bedroom on the second floor of a very old house my parents had bought while I was away. First night I showered and climbed into bed eager for a good night's rest. Before I turned out the light I noticed a shy smoky see-through lady about thirty years old standing in the doorway watching me. She was thin and had straight hair cut just above her shoulders and was wearing a simple cotton dress that hung to just above her knees. When I looked directly at her I was amazed that I could hear her thoughts, which came as a whisper inside me. She was thinking how this must be the one everyone had been talking about, who was coming home soon. I smiled and said hello out loud, but she seemed to have been startled that I could see her as her mouth fell open and she vanished in an instant. Though I watched and waited, I never saw her again. Several years later I mentioned this to my younger brother who at the time was seventeen. He described the lady in great detail, telling me he had seen her often. He would wake in the middle of the night for no reason to find her standing at the foot of his bed watching him. Later he told how several times as he lie awake looking up she came into the bed and lie down with him. The house has changed hands several times since. Often I have wanted to stop and ask the new owners if they have seen the lady on the second floor. My words refreshing the memory as I write, I think next time I will do just that. |

Sailor: Do you think the lady came with the house or is she a relative of yours? The bible does say, "we are surrounded with such a great cloud of witnesses." http://www.jesusreligion.com |

I am convinced the lady was in the house before my parents moved there. The fact that she was shy and had none of the characteristics of my family convinces me. Also my parents moved some time later to an even older house across town. My brother moved with them. To my knowledge there were no sightings there. If I return to the house on Lake street (the first house) I will post the response of the new owners to my query. |

I remembered this afternoon another encounter with a spirit, but this was not nearly so nice. Several years after my first encounter found me newly married and living several towns away. I had a business painting houses and developed a problem with pain in my lower back. For relief I began practicing yoga, then got into fasting, not knowing both these make one sensitive to seeing spirits. I was home alone this particular day and had gone through the yoga positions for half an hour or so. I had also been fasting for three days. In concluding my yoga, I went through a lenghty five minute headstand, came down slow, and was lying flat on my back resting when the ghost of a full grown male lion stepped through from the next room. Two seconds behind the lion came a woman. She was about forty, dressed in mens trousers and mens white dress shirt with the sleeves rolled up to her elbows. I lay staring up at the ceiling totally astonished. The lion settled himself next to me at an angle, and lay his chin on my thigh (I was naked). Where his chin rested, an area about the size of a wallet, my skin tingled and grew slightly warm. The woman continued across the room and seated herself in a large upholstered chair. Although originally calm from the yoga I became very, very, nervous and began to hyperventilate. Forcing myself to remain calm, I began to come to my feet. When my leg moved, the lion raised his head, looked at me and vanished. I stood and looked at the woman sitting across the room. She was looking me up and down and glaring with such hatred that chills ran up my back. I pretended I couldn't see her and picked up the large towel I used to do the yoga on. Slowly I folded the towel while watching her from the corner of my eye. Such a rage showed on her face that I became very angry. I had done absolutely nothing to this woman, yet she was so mad! Folding the towel tight as I could, I began walking like I was going to leave the room. When I was about five feet from the chair where she was glaring up at me I turned suddenly and hurled the folded towel hard as I could, hitting her square in the chest! When the towel passed through her and struck the chair with a loud "whump," she disappeared in what looked like a silent explosion, the lines of her form dispersing in a 360 degree puff. I then shouted, called her an ugly SOB, and told her to get the hell out of here and never come back! I never saw her again. Thank goodness. This was when I was young and strong and maybe a little impulsive. Today I would handle the situation differently. My violent reaction came from my own fear, and was unnecessary. The presence of the lion demonstrated to me that our pets must continue also in a spirit existence after death. I have had dogs and cats that I have loved dearly. Such knowledge gives me great comfort and the hope that I may someday see them again. |

No, i haven't seen one...i really want to though. I am intrigued by the whole thing. The closest i can say to having experienced anything was when i went to a friends house out in the country. The first day there we were watching tv and i kept feeling something lightly brushing the inside of my elbow. I'd look down and brush my arm, but nothing was there. It happened a couple more times. I looked for a fly or anything, but nothing. I didn't think much of it and continued to watch tv. Later that evening, the owners of the house and all their friends were talking about stuff at the dinner table when i heard them talking about how they have seen ghosts in the house etc. I jumped out of my chair. Could that have been what i was feeling? They build their house on top of what used to be an old road with oak trees running along each side that was filled with tons of traffic in the early 1900s. Anyways, gives me the creeps a little. Still very intriguing for me! |

I'm not quite sure if I've actually seen one myself, but I saw what looked like an apparition of a man holding a ticket in his hand while I was lying in bed. He looked back at me, smiled, and disappeared in about 5 seconds. I don't know what it was that I saw, but I can sure say that it scared the hell out of me. I quickly turned on the lights and left my room after he had disappeared. My brother was totally skeptical about the whole thing when I told him, and suggested that I may have been half asleep when it happened, which makes sense, though I still felt scared for a really long time, and trouble getting back to sleep. Has anyone else experienced anything similar to that? |

Hey, thanks for re-posting my story. I received a reply from somebody telling me that ghosts basically come and go when you want them to, and that they can take on any form that they want. I don't know how he/she came up to that conclusion, but it was pretty interesting to read. What do you think about ghosts, apparitions, etc.? |

In the last few years I have begun sensing spirits around me, pretty much all the time. At home, in all rooms, even at work! I get the touches on my hands, the pressure on my head, the sounds, the smells, the flower smell especially, and the shadows and flashes in my peripheral vision. A couple of times I woke up and felt someone holding my hand. Most of the time I just "feel" their presence. I am trying to understand why they are around me and what they want from me. What are they trying to tell me? I was in a very dangerous car accident many years ago...the medical staff at the hospital said I should have died. They were all surprised I lived and said that in most cases of an accident such as mine the people who come to them are in body bags. I walked away with only major bruising and stitches. They didn't even make me stay overnight at the hospital. I was lucky. God was watching over me. But now...I saw a little girl ghost in my room at 2:00 in the morning. She stared at me curiously and then turned and walked into my mirror which I sensed and just "knew" was the "other side", months later I heard the sound of little girls singing Ring-around-the-Rosy at 10:30 at night...there were no little girls in our neighborhood at the time. Our nearest neighbor had two young boys. And my father said he couldn't hear a thing. I sense presences and I once heard whispers from a female spirit in my ear as I awoke early one morning. I dream about past lives...I think they are past lives. And they are so real I wake up crying sometimes. I also feel like I am reliving others' memories or life experiences. I feel tired all the time since I dream so deep and constantly. I remember my dreams about 90% of the time. Many are so clear and so very detailed my friends joke I should be in the business of making movies. How am I to handle this and deal with this as it seems it will not go away and is a part of my life? My friends have all told me I am "sensitive", some mean it in a psychic sense others mean it in an emotional sense. I don't mind it but I want to understand how I live with this in my life. |

If you get the chance, go to the Spiritual Mansion and post this, again. Perhaps, more answers can be given there..http://www.jesusreligion.com/forum Spirits are around all of us all the time. You have been given a gift to see them, that's all. Know that the spirit world runs parallel to this world and that you are within spirit and spirit is within you. The people you see are attracted to you for a reason. Perhaps the children just enjoy hanging out with you!! Others are looking for help or answers on their life journey... :) http://www.angelsghosts.com Ghost Pictures |

Iīm only sixteen years now, and Iīve noticed that the older I get, the less I can feel different things. I have many memories of what some would call odd, but Iīve never consideed them that. I have allways missed my grandmother a lot, even if she died two years before I was born. I used to cry often, and say that I missed her, but mum didnīt understand how I could miss someone Iīve never seen. Still I remember that often, almost every night, I could feel someone sitting at the bedside, and once or twice I could see from the marks that someone really had been sitting there. Also I know that there are some kind of sprits in my room, ewerytime Iīve changed bedroom it have felt amzingly empty, till I call for company, dead company, that is. In one room I had problems, since some of them I didnīt want there refused to go away, but since I started boarding school, I know that all the spirits there are kind. I also had a major crush on one of them, he was allways so charming, kind and funny. It didnīt matter if I couldnīt see him, for ones soul reflects more than ones looks. About half a year ago he went further, and Iīm not sure what he meant with that, only that I know I will meet him again. I can not see ghosts, Iīve actually only seen one, only a shady figure leaning over a table, but I was much too young to take any notice. When my aunt died about 18 months ago, she had erlier said to me that she would haunt me for a time, for we had often discussed matters as death and ghosts, and so when she died, I heard noises from uppstairs, since she had lived in the same house, and her bedroom was right over mine, and then I asked her to find a way witch wouldnīt scare the lives of everyone else in the house, and so for ayear forward she wisited my dreams several times a week. One night I then had a dream where she told me she was now leaving, and I woke up crying and it was the first time after her death I really understood that now she was gone. In the morning I checked the date, and it was only one day short from one year of her burial. |

I have only seen something once...when I asked God for it. When I was 15 my "boyfriend" passed away suddenly by drowning. I was very upset, and my Mother felt it best to deny me going to the funeral. I was very angry and mad. For the first time in my life I questioned God. I ask him why he would take a such a young sweet boy full of promise and potential. I ask God to show him to me, to prove he was OK. I was laying in bed for the night in the dark. It was a hot night, and we did not have central air at the time. I had a box fan in my doorway, with my window open. I had just finished my "prayer" and I opened my eyes and there before me was a bright white figure of light. I couldn't see a face, hands or feet, but more the general shape of or outline of a body. I remembered bright red from what would be the waist down. It scared the hell out of me, and even though I had asked for it I was terrified! I screamed bloody murder waking my Mom who came down the hall, moved the fan and came into the room. As I screamed, it disolved. The next day, my friend called to see if I was OK. I told her of my experience, as we were close and she knew him. I will never forget as I told her of the firgure and the red she told me when he washed up from the creek he was wearing bright red shorts! I had no prior knowledge of this, but for me it solidified my belief that it was indeed Brad I saw. My Grandmother once told me to be careful what I asked God for, and to make sure I really wanted it. Now, I always do. |
