Hello, recently i overheard a few friends of mine talking about "the Jolly Gourds"? they said that they swoop down and help young children in times of peril. I figured they were merely being facesious, or talking about some legend, but then I was talking to a good friend of mine who know about such things and he said that there are indeed Jolly Gourds. He went on to tell me that most parents discourage telling kids about the Jolly Gourds because they think it will overwhelm them with "fantasy ideas", and eventually lead them to feel the Jolly Gourds actually belong in that catergory. Personally, I'd like to beleive in the Jolly Gourds myself, but I think I'm probably too old for them to ever shine their carapace at me. More recently, i have inquired of a similar forum, and they merely laughed at my expense. What do you think, is it worth a try?

Hi Benzwik,
I personally have never heard of the "Jolly Gourds" but that doesn't mean they don't exist. This sounds like a British folk tale. Wish they'd smiled on me. When I was younger I could have used a little more help getting along. Does anyone else have any input or comments on the "Jolly Gourds"?

The "Jolly Gourds". I've heard something about them, but never actually thought they exhisted. I thought it was like the easter bunny or soemthing. It was something you belived in as a kid. But you never know, they could be out there, perhaps growing in my very garden! But no, I'm sorry to say, there could not possibly be such things as the jolly gourds! Until i have mechanical proof they exhist, im as sceptical to this as swords to a blender.
On the other hand, i wonder if any of you could help me with a problem. My gourds seem to be leaking. I observed an old woman pouring water into her gourds, but none came out. My gourds are leaking all over the place! I just cant control it! Does anyone have a cure for this?

concerning your leaking problem, i would suggest regulating them. I know that sounds weird, but all good truth, it works! I regulate my own gourds about once every other month, it works for me, perhaps it will for you as well. I have decided to take my Jolly Gourd hunting more seriously now, I plan on interviewing several specimens to see what they can relate to me
