Apple overload? I am off to Middle Far Firle, to get my excess apples pressed and bottled for freezing. The Downes are also going for a pressing. After a 'home tasting' we have decided to go for single varietal types. More information will be posted later. This may beat boxes of apples languishing in the garage only to be thrown away next spring when the sad remainders have shrivelled beyond recognition. |

Well worth the trip and excellent results from our Bramleys. Reckon on half litre of juice per kilo of apples. While you wait for pressing (phone to book in advance) you can sample about 50 varieties of cider, perry and mead from all over the UK and buy them in containers provided. Also a good farm shop. Well worth the outing - especially on a sunny day like yesetrday. Their web site is here.....http://www.middlefarm.com http://www.middlefarm.com Middle Farm near Firle |
